On the rear bumper of my travel trailer it has carried 2 non-electric mountain bikes using a Swagman bike rack for 10,000 highway miles with no issues. I shimmed the receiver channel and drilled and safety wired the slop bolts. So far so good and I don't fore see any future issues as I haven't had to mess with it since installation..

by:

It fit the bumper perfectly but my bike rack wouldn't fit without reworking it.

by:

I ordered and received two of these hitch receivers and installed them on the rear bumper of my camper to carry my 150 cc scooter. Shipping was great and parts mounted without any problem. All hardware was included and fits perfect. Have purchased other items from etrailer previously and look forward to additional items in the future. This company is great to deal with.

Did you end up having any problem with the weight of the scooter breaking the bolts..? I am buying 2 to do something similar...making a carrier for my generator and plan on using 2 hitches...

Bob.r

8/28/2015

No problems at all. Used it several times already and works great. I mounted them at the frame extensions.

by:

I’m using this receiver a little differently than it’s intended purpose. After getting some longer bolts and drilling holes in some aluminum angle stock, I mounted it to the tongue of our trailer. Now I have a place to store the head of our weight distribution hitch when it’s not on the truck. I just slide it into this receiver and it’s up, out of the way instead of taking up room in a storage compartment or sitting on the ground. I have a locking hitch pin I can use for added security. A simple and cheap fix.

by:

I ultimately had to return this item outside of the etrailer.com return window, but UltraFab exchanged the product with no problems. Currently using it on my rear bumper with a license plate frame holder.

by:

Fits great on the 4" bumper on our motorhome. Seems very sturdy and should work great for our 2 bike rack, without interfering with the trailer hitch.
I'd probably give it 5 stars, just haven't gotten to use it yet.

by:

Ise this item on my travel trailer to keep my hitch out of the way,off the ground. Love it to store it so I don’t kick it on the ground.

by:

I looked at several options for attaching a bike rack to my camper and this was what I wanted. I looked at several similar items on Another online retailer that had complaints about the receiver falling off because of faulty welds. I am quite certain that this product won’t come apart, in fact, you could probably pick the whole camper up by it. It is built like a tank, and is incredibly easy to install. It was more expensive than the junk on Another online retailer, but I won’t be worrying about my bikes falling off going down the road

by:

I placed my order and had my part within a week. Now we can take our bikes with us wherever we go. Just moved the spare tire over and bolted the reciever right on. Thanks guys.

by:

Has held up well on camper to hold bike rack and a carrier.

by:

It works great I put a bike rack on it and it is fine .

by:

This product was very easy to install and will be perfect for holding our bike rack. Very heavy duty for the price, excellent quality.

by:

Works great for our bike rack.

by:

Exactly what I ordered and on time. E trailer is where I go to get stuff for my camper.

by:

This was the product I needed to store an accessory from my truck on my fifth wheel camper bumper while not in use. I actually mounted this "vertical" to store my motorcycle carrier "out of the way". I could see mounting this normally to carry light weight accessories while trailering my fifth wheel.

Bruce

8/29/2016

After a year, product is still what I wanted and doing what I needed. Actually moved to a new fifth wheel in December and brought this forward to the new camper. Very handy!

by:

I got this product our RV rear bumper to put a bike rack forour two bicycles and I'm very happy with the hitch receiver it is well made and great item that I needed to carry our bike.I highly recommend this hitch receiver.

Great just what I wanted and needed, it was a easy installation and Im very happy with the results, thank you again for this great product I strongly recommend this product.

by:

I received this product and immediatley installed on my camper bumper, while installing I found two of the 4 lock nut would not screw on to the "U" bolts provided. I then found two of the same size nuts in my toolbox and completed the install. After inserting the bike carrier one of the "U" bolts broke off, It looks as if the "U" bolts are made of a cheap material.I had to purchase a "U" bolt from the local hardware store to replace the broken one. I don't know if I would recommend this to anyonebecause of the faulty "U" bolt.

Randy

After replacing the cheap U bolts with new ones, so far the product is work well.

Thank you

Recommend this bracket to any RV person wanting to transport bicycles. Receiver is perfect for my Yakima bike rack...

Your product has worked out very well, the metal gauge thickness is very strong!

by:

Very happy with the product we purchased for our RV. It fit perfect, and now we can transport our bicycles when we go camping! Now we don't have to take up space inside the RV or the back of the truck!! See attached photos.

by:

Attached easily to the back of my camper and my bike rack slipped right into the receiver. Overall, a good buy that met my needs.

Been a year and lots of miles with bumps and potholes but the brackets have remained tight and working like they should. Thanks

by:

Hi,
I was driving back home after our
vacation and utilizing the bike rack, along with the hitch receiver, and adapter bars. 1/2 way through Nebraska, a Mustang pulled up while i was driving and yelled, "do you have a bike rack?" I said yes, and he yelled it had fallen off!

This was on interstate 80 going 70 mph. I pulled over, and the rack was gone. So we drove to the next exit and back tracked. I was just hoping nobody was hurt. About 7 miles back, we saw the bikes on the side of the road still attached to the rack. We went to the next exit, turned around, came back and gathered the bikes and real with the help of a state trooper. After looking at the rack, i could see it was still attached to the receiver i purchased, but the u bolts had snapped. 4 damaged bikes due to defective u bolts.

I use this trailer hitch receiver to mount my bike carrier on the bumper of my travel trailer. I carry up to four bicycles and this hitch performs beautifully. It is heavy duty and easy to install.

  • Recommended Bike Rack for Trailer with Tilting Bumper Mounted Spare Tire
For your camping trailer that has a tilting bumper mounted spare tire, I recommend looking at an RV approved hitch-mounted bike rack like the Swagman Dispatch 2 Bike Platform Rack # S44FR. This will slide into a 2 inch trailer hitch receiver and hold 2 bikes of up to 45 pounds each. When the bikes are unloaded from the carrier, the upright mast can be folded down to allow you to tilt back the spare tire on your trailer for rear storage access. This carrier also includes a hitch and cable...

  • Why Cant the Bumper Mounted Hitch Recevier UF35-946401 Be Installed on Decorative Bumper Cover
The Ultra-Fab 2 Inch Motor Home Trailer Hitch Receiver # UF35-946401 is not designed for use on decorative aluminum bumper covers because the installation of the receiver and the weight of the accessory used in the receiver would likely damage the decorative aluminum cover. When the bumper cover becomes damaged, the receiver would no longer be installed securely enough on the bumper and could move while a hitch accessory is being used.
