Today we'll be taking a look at the Furrion 50-amp RV power inlet. This is going to provide us a really stable and nice-looking inlet for our RV to get hooked up to that 50-amp power cord so you can connect to shore power. Has a nice thick lid to protect that inlet from any outside materials or any outside things like rain, road grime, and dust. It's going to be kept out of there. Has a little gasket on the top of that lid to keep all those things out from those pins.You can see we'll have our three kind of curved pins there to match up with our 50-amp plug, and then the threaded portion going all the way around to match with that standard fitting. The lid is made from a fiber-filled polyester, so that outer case is going to be nice and UV-stable.
We don't have to worry about this fading, cracking, or crumbling over time. And the plate here is made of a stainless steel, so this isn't going to rust out on us. Then there's this little kind of crescent moon shape here. That's actually a light that will light up blue whenever it's connected to power, so we'll always know when that's ready to go.It's just a bolt-on application. We'll have four mounting holes.
It does not come with any hardware to get this attached, so you will have to provide that hardware on your own. There's also a gasket to keep the back of our plug protected and keep any water or grime and dirt out from there.We'll have a few components inside. That plug to keep our wiring nice and secure as well. The amperage rating for this is 50 amps. The voltage is 125 over 250 volts.
And it has a five-year warranty from Furrion.The inlet measures about four inches from top to bottom. And then about three and a half inches side to side, and from the very front to the back portion of our inlet here, it's about six inches. From the front of that inlet to where it would mount up to our wall, it's about an inch and a quarter.Overall, I think this is going to be a really nice, very modern, sleek-looking inlet to have on your RV, or even on your boat if you choose to have it there. Since it is made of heavy-duty marine-grade construction, I think it's going to last for a long time. That's going to do it for a look at the Furrion 50-amp RV power inlet..

The product works as stated. And appears to be of slightly higher quality than other brands. However, as others have stated, the little blue light which indicates that power is going through went off after only a couple of weeks. It’s a shame because it was nice to see the little blue light, indicating that there was power going through the lines. They should really fix that because it is a great selling point.

The power inlet does have a 5 year warranty under which the LED light would be covered. I will send out warranty instructions to you.

Very happy with the product and the service. I needed this product right away because mine shorted out and we were without power until we could get a replacement. I ordered one from this etrailer and one from [online]. Happy to say that Etrailer arrived first. This product was very easy to connect and the quality is much better than what came in our Montana. I keep an extra one which helped a neighbor in our RV park when hers when out. No issues with this product so far. Highly recommend

view full answer... - What Is The Little Metal Piece In The Sidewall Of A 50 Amp Twist-Lock Power Inlet The little metal piece you're referencing is there help hold the power cord in place once you twist it in. It will still work without it but you have the chance of it blocking you from fully getting the cord into place with how yours is or the cord twisting back down to the starting position where the cord is initially pushed on.
