Updated 07/20/2022 | Published 07/19/2022

Question:

50 amp male connection, What is the metal piece below prongs. On my RV, that metal piece was pushed up and pushed to back of outlet. Do I need to replace the receptacle?

The little metal piece you're referencing is there help hold the power cord in place once you twist it in. It will still work without it but you have the chance of it blocking you from fully getting the cord into place with how yours is or the cord twisting back down to the starting position where the cord is initially pushed on.

If you would like to replace the inlet then I recommend the Furrion 50 Amp RV Power Inlet - 125V/250V - LED - Square - Black # F52INSBS.
