Video Transcript for Mighty Cord Replacement RV Power Inlet Review

Speaker 1: Today we're talking a look at a Mighty Cord RV power inlet. This inlet lets you plug in your RV power cord. It features the male twist lock plug that accepts a 30 amp female twist lock plug. This unit can be used as a replacement or as a new inlet for your application. It has the threaded ring connection, which creates a weatherproof connection with the locking ring on your RV's power cord. We're looking at a durable polyester construction.

This cap is a really nice cap. It clicks into the closed position. But on the back side of the lid it has a foam gasket, which creates a weather tight seal right here. That's going to protect the inlet when it's not in use, and the connection points. It's white in color. On the backside we have this casing back here with the included strainer leaf bracket.

This keeps unwanted strain and stress off the wiring and off the connection points. Then right here we have the connection points for our wiring. Each connection point features the terminal screws, so you strip back your wiring, loosen up the screw, place your wiring into the appropriate slot. Once you get it in there, then you re-tighten the screw to make your connection. Also on the backside, come with a seal or a gasket for a tight seal at the installation surface. This unit does require a two and 7/8th inch diameter hole for installation.

Then when it comes to the overall dimensions, it gives us a measurement of about, I'm going to say three and a half to three and 5/8th inches, by about 3 1/4 inches. Then the mount holes on the unit, it's a square pattern. Those are separated on center by two and 7/16th inches. That's going to do it for today's look at the Mighty Cord RV power inlet.

  • Replacement Power Inlet for a 2015 Prime Time LaCrosse Travel Trailer
Hey Debbie, thanks for reaching out! We have kits like the B&B RV Electric Cable Hatch # BM85MR to help cover power inlets, but if you're looking for a cover that comes with an inlet, we unfortunately don't have those - you'll either need to use a hatch like what I just referenced, or you'll need to completely replace the inlet on your trailer. You're either going to need a 30A inlet, which we have in Black # A10-30INBKVP and White # A10-30INVP, or a 50A inlet, which we also have in Black...

  • Is There a 15/20 Amp Power Inlet for Trailers
I do have an option for you but all of our power inlets are 30 or 50 amps as that is what you will find at an RV park. That said, you can use an adapter if you need to hook up to a 15 or 20 amp outlet. For a 30 amp RV inlet I recommend Mighty Cord Replacement RV Power Inlet part # A10-30INVP. You can then use the Mighty Cord RV Power Cord Adapter part # A10-1530DBK so you can hook up to a 15 amp outlet.

  • Power Inlet for DIY Build/Ambulance Camper Conversion
If your electrical distribution system is not rated for 30 amps you should not be trying to plug into a 30 amp RV power pedestal at a camp site. From the attached images you are correct, you obviously have a 20 amp plug as it is clearly labeled for that rating. This does not mean your ambulance conversion project has a power distribution system rated only for 20 amps, just that your power cord is limited to such. In the RV world you primarily see a camper with either a 30 amp or, the...

  • Comparing Mighty Cord RV Power Inlet A10-30INVP and Epicord Power Inlet 277-000137
The Mighty Cord Replacement RV Power Inlet # A10-30INVP and the Epicord 30 Amp Twist Lock Power Inlet # 277-000137 are both 30-amp twist-lock inlets. They are essentially identical. An example of a compatible cord is # A10-G30330VP; this has a 30-amp male twist-lock connector on one end and a 30-amp female on the other. The type of cord you need depends on what you're looking to connect to. Another example is the Furrion RV Power Cord # F3OR36SBOEM which is 36-feet long and has a 30 Amp...

  • Will The Hughes 30Amp Male Connector Fit Inside The Storage Hatch For Electrical Cord On Campers?
I have found the Mighty Cord Replacement Pigtail # A10-30PMVP to be the best option when replacing a power cable end on a camper using a Hatch # A10-2140VP to store the cable. The replacement ends like the Hughes # HU93FR you found are too large to fit in the small storage area. Personally the best thing you can do is eliminate this type of cord all together by installing the Power Inlet # A10-30INVP in its place. This helps to seal one of the holes which insects and moisture can easily...

  • Availability of Adapter for Old Bargman 35 amp Electrical Inlet for Camper
What you have there is an obsolete Bargman 35 amp power inlet. There ARE adapters out there, but they are VERY rare and therefore expensive. I'd recommend removing it and installing a modern 30 amp inlet like part # A10-30INVP along with a 30 amp twist lock extension cord, part # A10-3025ED90.

  • 30 Amp Twist Lock Adapter to 15 Amp Adapter for Connecting RV to House Outlet
The power at your house would be on a 15 amp outlet so the adapter you'd need is the # A10-1530DBK which uses he same 30 amp twist lock connector as your # A10-30INVP and converts it to the same 15 amp socket your house has.

  • Comparing 30 Amp Twist Lock Power Inlets from Epicord and Valterra Mighty Cord
The Epicord 30 Amp Twist Lock Power Inlet - White # 277-000137 and the Mighty Cord Replacement RV Power Inlet - 30 Amp Twist Lock - White # A10-30INVP are nearly identical parts. They are both replacements for factory plugs and have moisture and dust protection built in. They are very similar in quality as well, so I recommend going with the less expensive option as you will get nearly the same product from different manufacturers.

Unfortunately, the best route forward is to uninstall the female outlet installed on your trailer and install it with a male outlet like the Mighty Cord Replacement RV Power Inlet - Twist Lock - 30 Amp # A10-30INVP. After the male outlet is installed, you can now use a power cord like the Mighty Cord RV Power Cord - 30 Amps - 25' Long # A10-3025EDBK.
