How to Install a Kitchen Faucet


Empire Faucets Installed

Depending on your setup, you'll either need the built-in round deck plate for a 1-hole installation or the included oval deck plate for a 3-hole installation. To install, use the inlet shank and drop the new faucet and a deck plate in place of your existing faucet. Then thread the mounting nut onto the shank, and connect the braided hot and cold water lines. You'll need to keep some tub and tile caulk (not included) on hand to help prevent any leaking.

The connections for the water lines are very short so I had to extend the existing lines

Well made but….. hot water line was not labeled. Label was in the bag but not attached to the faucet lines. Connection fittings not as shown. The fittings seem to be smaller in diameter than what is on the rv which will necessitate the purchase of adapters. Not a bad product but I think the aggravation factor during installation will offset the value. Picture below shows fittings on new faucet compared to old

Product review. Works very well. This unit replaced the original that was leaking from inside the valve body and from the extended wand handle. Many attempts to resolve the leaks with washers and tape were futile. This new faucet is much easier to use and very reliable.

Faucet continued to work as it should. no problems

Good, functional kitchen faucet for our 2017 Lance 2285. We rarely used the built-in sprayer of the original faucet, so this faucet suits our needs just fine. Difficult to install, but that was due to limited access to the underside of the sink rather than anything to do with the faucet itself. After 1 week of camping, no issues!

Good Quality faucet with easy installation and it is great to have the water supply lines in the proper size for an RV.. Be careful not to over tighten the mounting nut if you are installing this in an RV fiberglass or plastic sink.

UPS driver informed my wife that he would document the damage to the package that was delivered. The box was tore everywhere and somewhat taped and also open in numerous areas. Faucets was in tact but out of package rapping? Instructions and cover plate were missing. Very suspicious and disappointing considering I paid additional shipping for quicker delivery and didn’t receive what I ordered.

  • Empire Faucet EM54JR Is Leaking From Inside Faucet Housing - Should I Repair Or Replace?
    Hey Jeff, good question. If the water is actually coming from the bottom of the faucet body and running down the lines, that’s usually a sign the leak is internal to the faucet itself, not the supply lines or fittings. On those Empire units, there isn’t really a serviceable cartridge or internal parts you can swap out, so once they start leaking like that, it’s typically a replace-it situation. Before you swap it, it’s worth double-checking the basics just to be sure. Make sure the connections...

    Not just any faucet will work so you'll want to take one quick measurement of your inlet shanks from center to center to make sure that the replacement matches. The # EM65FR you were looking at has an 8" spacing for the inlet shanks. Other than that you could use pretty much any faucet including single inlet shank styles like # EM54JR that come with a a cover for the inlet shank holes.

    Hi Steve, I checked with the manufacturer, and they don't make for sale replacement parts for the Empire Faucets RV Kitchen Faucet # EM54JR. If it's dripping, you can try undoing the water lines and see if there is some type of clog or back-up happening that is causing a drip. Otherwise, the faucet does come with a lifetime warranty so if it needs replacing, you don't have to get a whole new one.
