Wow that is great! Super perfect fit and it's great it doesn't really interfere with the steps at all. :)

I mounted this box undernieth my RV between frame members to store 30 amp extra cable and sewer line attachments allowing more room in accessible storage bays for other items.

Had to make lowering brackets to get the whole kit to lower 1 more inch To fit correctly. Much figuring out but in the end it fit perfectly.

Purchased the storage box after replacing the folding steps with solid 3 step series. This left a void where fold up steps were, which now holds leveling blocks. Product was easy to install using same mounting holes as old steps. Had to put a spacer between door and blocks, first time out blocks moved closer to door and was unable to unlock, a little flange around lock would resolve this from happening.

Storage box was working fine, added a small spacer to keep items away from door lock. Sold trailer and purchased another, installed 2 boxes with locks.

I got both the steps and this box to fill the void. Hard part was removing old steps. These work great and look better and gives more ground clearance as we mostly do dock in remote areas. You won’t regret getting them!!!

The steps are great. The storage box lock jammed on our first trip. Almost didn’t get our leveling kit out until I pulled hard on the door and bent the latch enough to open. If you get this item swap out for a quality lock. The one supplied is a piece of crap.

This is the ideal solution for the space left when you remove the factory steps. I store all of my sockets, ratchets, torque wrench, etc. for checking trailer lug nuts and setting up my weight distribution hitch. Perfect!

Super easy to install. If you can get the old steps out, you can install it. Great use of space. I'll put all my emergency tire tools etc... in it. Great product.

The storage box is exactly as advertised but could and should be a little larger. The size really limits what fits in the box. Extra storage is always nice but for the size I would not purchase this unit again. I also had to install some weather stripping to tighten up the lock and stop the door from rattling so much.

The convenience of it fitting in the space left over by removing OEM folding stairway is a simple and effective way of hiding the gap; left by removing old stairway and now going to add just that little more storage space. It locating at the rear of the trailer is a plus too.

Also, what requirements did you not meet for the Morryde kits? It is very possible that swapping out for something like the Morryde part # MR87ZR or the Dexter part # K71-652-00 would raise your trailer a bit. I've never seen them lower a trailer at all. If your measurements are different you can pick the part number from the table below.     The difference is between just the MORryde Locking RV Storage Box # MR43RR and when you add the brackets at their widest setting. Just the box measures 25-3/4" but when you add the mounting brackets is when you'll see that 27-3/4" width that you mentioned.     To measure for fit of the Lippert SolidStep, measure the entry way from right to left at the narrowest point. Generally there will be a flat metal flange that extends out 1/2" all around. This is the flange that the door closes against and keeps the door from trying to swing inside. From that measurement, round up to the next even inch. So, your door (at the narrowest point) is 21-1/4" wide to the door flange, and rounded up we get 23". The narrowest width for solid steps is 24 inches....

If you already have the steps installed you can mock up the door to see if it will open with out any issues since part of the clearance will depend on what stairs you have and how tall they are.
