Looking to Upgrade My Trailer Suspension

Updated 12/01/2025 | Published 10/29/2025

Question:

I am looking for some suspension cushioning for my tandem axle 3500 lb travel trailer. I wanted Morryde, but my setup does not meet their qualifyer requirements. I was looking at the Dexter ez flex. Does that change ride height at all? I can afford more ground and tire clearance, but I cannot afford any less. My axles sit on top of my springs between the spring and the frame. Any other options you recommend?

Hey, Jack! Thanks for your question.

It sounds like you're look at the upgraded equalizer kits? Wanted to make sure I'm on the same page as you. Also, what requirements did you not meet for the Morryde kits?

It is very possible that swapping out for something like the Morryde part # MR87ZR or the Dexter part # K71-652-00 would raise your trailer a bit. I've never seen them lower a trailer at all. Both Morryde and Dexter don't have an equalizer kit that's rated for 3.5k axles. However, Lipper does have an option. That's the Equa-Flex part # LC279687.

I guess my main question for you is what exactly are you wanting to get out of your trailer suspension? This will help me get on the same page so I can make sure that I get the right kit for ya. You can also reply to the email with any pictures or additional information.

Let me know!

Hey Jack, what did you end up deciding for your trailer suspension—did the Dexter or the Equa-Flex kit give you the clearance you needed? Your update could make it easier for the next person trying to balance ride comfort and ground height.
