Hey, everybody. Welcome to etrailer.com. I'm Bobby, and today we're taking a look at the Thule square bar adapters for various accessories. Now, these are gonna be a great little way of allowing us to go ahead and attach to our square bars, especially utilizing those T-slot attachments here at the top, so can be a great little solution. There's a lot of times those square bars don't have that T-slot. We do have a lot of carriers that do utilize it.
Taking a closer look here at the product you guys can see, definitely a durable well-made product. Thule always known for their good work. At the top here you are seeing just this little metal bracket here that simply was clamping onto our square bars, you guys can see giving us a nice stable base for ourselves. That bottom piece here, that does have a plastic covering on the outside, just a little hard plastic for that metal bracket there on the inside. And you guys can see exactly where that hinges, and how that allows us to go ahead, allow our square bars to go in place, bring this up and simply latch into position here at the top.
That latch, very easy to use. Just simply slides right in, and then as we actually do get our T-slot in here, that's actually what's doing a lot of the work of tightening this down. So, at the top here, you're seeing this plastic little piece that just simply pops up, or pops down, I should say, and allows us to reinstate our T-bolt into that top portion. So to go ahead and give us an idea of how we can utilize that, I've gone ahead and grabbed the Thule jaw grip here. So, this is just one carrier that you guys may have, or just to get a little example here to show us how we can get this installed.
This knob just simply backs off, of course, allowing our bolt to slide out. Now that T-bolt normally slides around those T-channels, but unfortunately for us and our square bars, we don't have that. So, I just simply take my covering here. Pop it. Insert our bolt, like so, with the threads going up, and then re-insert our plastic holder, clipping it back into position, and reinserting it into our jaw grip.
Now today on our jaw grip, we can only fit one way as you guys can see. Definitely wouldn't be able to fit there, start binding. So make sure we are appropriately putting those into our carriers, and then just simply re-tightening our knob here to start it. Now, I do also have a square bar today from Thule to go ahead and show us how I get this clamped on. So, I just simply take my carrier here. I take my metal bracket. Insert it like so, and bring up our latch, and get it back right into that position. So it is loose in this position as you guys can see, and we can go ahead and put this wherever we need on our bar system. However, I just simply have to tighten down on this hand knob to bring this all in line with itself, get it nice and tight on our bar. And with just a few revolutions, it should be nice and secure. So as you guys can see no shifting, no wobbling. It is nice and secure there on our bar system. So, great easy solution for ourselves, makes that kinda change no time at all. Let's take in a closer look here. We can go ahead and give ourselves some dimensions for ourselves. So, starting with that inside height, from that plastic in the metal holding at the bottom there to the top of our bracket on the inside, it's putting us exactly at an inch and 1/8 for ourselves. Our inside length for our bracket is gonna be right at an inch and 1/8. Oh, I'm sorry, guys, an inch and 3/8 for ourselves for that inside length. Our outside height is gonna be right at two and 1/8 inches for ourselves at that high point there, while our outside length is gonna be putting us right at two inches for ourselves. And that depth for ourselves is gonna be right at an inch and 3/4 for that outside dimension. So, definitely doesn't take up too much room, which is very important on those bar systems. It can start getting a lot busy, and we wanna use that space as much as we can. Especially if you have a smaller roof, can be an issue of keeping that low profile, so it's nice that we aren't actually adding too much room with these adapters. Well, guys, I think that that about does it for our look at the Thule square bar adapters for various accessories here at etrailer.com. I'm Bobby, thank you for watching..
