The flush design of the Yakima BaseLine FX Roof Rack keeps the crossbars tight to the roofline, maintaining a streamlined, factory-style look. Nothing sticks out past the sides, so the rack blends in and keeps a low profile. The integrated tower and crossbar system gives it a clean, finished appearance that looks built-in rather than added on.
If you’ve ever driven with roof bars that whistle in the wind, you know how distracting it can be. These aero-style aluminum crossbars have a shape that helps reduce that noise and drag while driving. The push-down rubber strips fill the top channels to minimize vibration and airflow disturbance, keeping things quieter whether you’re hauling gear or cruising empty.
This rack is ready for all kinds of adventures—summer paddle trips, winter ski weekends, or long road trips with extra cargo. The crossbars work with both channel-mount and clamp-on accessories, so you can attach bike racks, kayak carriers, snow gear mounts, and cargo boxes without extra adapters. It’s a flexible setup that fits right in with whatever activity comes next.
When you load up heavy gear like kayaks or camping boxes, you want confidence in your rack’s strength. The BaseLine FX features durable aluminum construction with a 165-lb weight capacity (always follow your vehicle’s maximum roof load). The bars measure 44-3/4" long x 5" wide x 3-1/2" tall on one side and 48-3/4" long x 5" wide x 3-1/2" tall on the other, giving solid support for everything from bulky boxes to sports equipment.
You can upgrade this system with Yakima Same Key System (SKS) lock cores (sold separately). They help deter theft of the rack and any channel-mount accessories, giving you peace of mind when your gear stays on the roof overnight or while parked at a trailhead.

I’ve lost a second cover. Some shifting of the rack but I use it weekly.
