Airflow makes or breaks how your Transit feels inside. Without it, the space can feel closed in and stuffy. Adding this sliding window turns that solid panel into a screened, tinted opening that lets air and light into that section.
This double-slider window replaces the fixed glass in the driver side forward panel of your Ford Transit. Instead of a sealed panel in the main entry door, the front and rear glass sections slide independently so you can vent from either side or open both at the same time. Each panel uses a spring-loaded latch to hold it where you set it.
When the glass is open, the mesh screen keeps bugs out of the sliding door opening so the van can vent while you're parked. The pleated shade gives you a way to cover that large door window when you're sleeping inside or leaving tools and gear in the cargo area. You can run the screen and shade together, separately, or retract both for a clear opening.
The sliding door is one of the largest glass sections on the Transit and sits at eye level from outside. The 12% gray tint limits how much someone can see into the van while still allowing visibility out. It also blocks 88% of UV rays, reducing sun exposure through that door glass.
Cutting into the sliding door panel is permanent. The frame has to match the factory contour so the urethane seals evenly against the door skin. This window follows the original stamping profile, so when it is set into place, the edge matches the panel you just opened up.
After the opening is cut, urethane primer is applied around the opening before a continuous bead of automotive urethane (VW84ZR - sold separately) is applied. Once the window is pressed into place, the urethane bonds the frame to the body and forms the weather seal that keeps water out. Consistent bead thickness helps create a proper seal, and the window is taped in position while the urethane cures.

Hi everyone, Steve here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at our Van Windows Direct double sliding window for the driver's side forward panel of a 2015 through current year Ford Transit. Any wheel base, whether it's a T150, 250, 350, just not the Transit Connect. So make sure you're verifying that with the fit guy here at etrailer.com. Be sure you're getting the right parts the first time based off of your year, make and model. So folks, again, if you're gonna convert that van into a camper or something of that nature, this is a great option for you.
Excuse the reflection there. This does a great job at reflecting light as you can see. I've got one side slider. I can also open the other side and do dual sliding if I want. And I do have some shades here built in.
I have a full privacy and I have just a screen kind of version. And those are magnetic, so you can see I can pull them both up and down together as well. So I like that little feature myself. And I would spin this around. It's just really large, but you get the gist of it, right So there's two handles here, one on each side of the glass, and that's gonna be what opens and closes and what latches the glass from the backside as well.
And you can kind of see that through the glass as well. So this is a 12% grade privacy tint is what they're calling this on the outside. Basically it just means it's gonna block 88% of those UV rays. This window will fallow the contour of that transit for an OE style look and install. And if you're gonna install it yourself, obviously you're gonna cut through the metal.
Take your time, measure twice, cut once. You will need some urethane and potentially some of these other products that we carry separately for that install.
