Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer. Today, we're gonna take a look at this TowSmart 4-Way Flat to 7-Way Blade Plug-In Trailer Connector Adapter. Now, switching between trailers with different plugs doesn't have to mean rewiring. This adapter here is gonna convert your standard four-way flat connection into this seven-way blade socket, giving you flexibility for towing multiple trailer types. And you still will be able to maintain the four-way connection you can see right here.
So it gives you both a four-way and a seven-way, after you connect it. Now, the TowSmart Plug-In Trailer Connector plugs directly into the four-way flat, gives you an instant seven-blade socket. It's gonna handle running lights, turn lights, brake signals right out of the box, so if you're ready to hook up and go without cutting or splicing. But now, on this one, if you need more than just the basic lighting that the four-way's gonna give you, this adapter has the extra leads right here you, you can see, for a full seven-way function. Now, we did take this apart.
There's screws here that we took off, just to verify what those color wires will connect to. So we did verify that for you. Basically, the blue wire is designed to run to your electric brake controller output for electric brakes. The red wire connects to your vehicle battery for 12-volt power. And then, the black wire ties into your reverse light circuit, if your trailer uses that signal.
Now, if you don't need the brakes or the charging power right now, you can tape off these extra wires and keep them tucked away until you do. It's a flexible setup that'll grow with your towing needs. Now, tow wiring takes abuse from road grime and weather, and this TowSmart adapter uses nice, solid connectors that'll hold firm, keeping your trailer lights and systems working trip after trip. It's built to stay secure, even when you're towing in rough or wet conditions. Now, if you do have any other additional questions regarding this part, or any other item that we carry, please feel free to reach out to us so we can help you get all of your questions answered for you.
But that is gonna do it for a look at this TowSmart 4-Way Flat to 7-Way Blade Plug-In Trailer Connector Adapter.
Does not come with mounting bolts and mouting bracket. Had to fabericate a mounting bracket and go to the store for mounting bols that had a shallow head so the cover would fully close...
Great support. Helpful support staff. THanks!
