Question:

I have a Lance Camper with track installed on the top. There are no identifying marks. The sliding nuts that are in my track measure 0.750 wide and approx. 0.115 thick with room to spare. I am looking for additional nut s and the 853-5147 seems to be correct, but, there is nothing on your drawing showing the threaded hole dimension. One of you pictures shows the nut 853-5147 next to an M8 tinch Bolt #853-0782 so I assumed that the two items are compatible. Is that true? - Does the nut 853-5147 fit on the bolt 853-0782? -Also, does Knob #759-0776 fit on bolt #853-0782? -Does the bolt 853-0782 fit in the rack rail that the nut slide in to? Your info shows that the bolt head thickness is 0.19. Note that I am assuming that most track rails meet an industry standard dimension for the width in which the nut/bolt head slide as well as the nut thickness/bolt head thickness. Thanks for your kind attention in this matter.

Great question! I believe that TopLine is the OEM manufacturer for Lance's roof rails. Although there is no official industry standard size for slots on roof rails, most of them are very similar. It just makes sense to design the racks to be compatible with multiple crossbars and accessories.

The Thule Track Nut, # 853-5417, that you mentioned is designed to work with Thule's M6 x 17 mm Bolt, # 924-0617-15, and washer, # 951061254. You'll also need a 4mm Hex Key like # 853-2430-02 to tighten the bolt.

I believe the Q & A you saw from another customer who used Thule's M8 T-Bolt, # 853-0782 in conjunction with Thule Knob # 753-0776 to slide into the Thule Aeroblade bar T-slot. Yes, these 2 parts will work together and fit in the head of the T-bolt fits in the T-slot, but this is not the designed purpose for those 2 parts. So, we can't guarantee that they will be an adequate or safe solution.
