Michael: Hi, there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're taking a look at the JR Products Propane Hose. Like most propane hoses, this is going to connect to your LP propane tank, and it's going to route your propane over to your travel trailer or RV's regulator.When you're looking for a propane hose, there are a few important components that you want to focus in on. The first thing is going to be the length. How far do you need it to reach to get from your propane tank over to your regulator This hose is a foot and a half.
The actual measurement, I'm going to say it's closer to 18-5/8" long. This is a rubber tube with an inner diameter of 1/4".The other component that you're going to want to look at is your fittings. So this is a RV Type 1 ACME, or it's also sometimes called a QCC1, fitting. This you can just hand-tighten onto your propane cylinder nozzle. It's going to tighten clockwise, so it's going to be easier, more intuitive for you.
You're not going to need any special tools. It's going to have a regulator in there that's going to prevent any sort of gas leaks. If it detects a gas leak, it's going to take your pressure down to the minimum pressure so that you're not having a leak. But you're going to have a lot of flow rate before you get to that point, so you're not going to have to worry about that very often. The other side is going to be a 1/4" male inverted flare.
And that's what's going to plug into your regulator, so you want to make sure that your regulator does have that female inverted fitting there so that you can get that connected. Those are going to be your two most important things, the links and your connections.This hose is a UL- and CSA-approved product, so it's going to hold up well for you. You can trust the quality. It is designed for LP gas only. So that's the primary thing that you're going to want this for, and that's the only thing it should be used for.
