Video Transcript for Propane Adapter Fitting Review

Michael: Hi, there. I'm Michael with eTrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at a propane adapter fitting. If you are needing to connect two different kinds of propane hoses, this is the sort of thing that you would need. This one specifically is going to connect a 3/8" male flare fitting to a 1/4" male fitting. This is the 3/8" NPT female flare fitting, and then this is the female 1/4" NPT fitting.Mostly likely, you've got a trunk hose or an extension hose that you're trying to run from your propane tank to your regulator on your RV or travel trailer.

You've got those hoses, but you need to connect them. This is going to be the piece that you need. Depending on what kind of application, what fittings you have, you do want to make sure to check the fittings on your hoses to make sure that they are going to work with this adapter. If not, we do have other adapters available here at eTrailer.com. We also have a lot of different hoses with different fittings. It might just be easier for you, instead of trying to hook those two hoses together, just get a longer hose.

Depending on your set-up, obviously it's your call. But we do want to make sure that you're getting the product you need that solves your problem, so you can get back to enjoying your time outdoors.Go ahead and take a look at our other options if you're shopping around. If you already know this is the part that you need, it is a brass construction. It's going to hold up well. You're not going to have to worry about rust or corrosion.

It should make those connections nice and tight, so that you can power up all those propane-powered appliances. That's going to complete our look at the propane adapter fitting. Thanks for watching.

  • How Do I Connect Griddle To Propane Tank
If you have a 3/8" male flare fitting on the backside of your regulator that is attached to your griddle, you will need a 3/8" female fitting to make connection and the opposite end of hose will need to have the female POL Type 1 fitting. I suggest the MB Sturgis Propane Hose w/ Back Check - Type 1 x 1/4" MPT - 30", # 100473-30-MBS and then use the Propane Adapter Fitting - 3/8" Female SAE Flare x 1/4" Female NPT, # 37207-30225.

  • How to Measure a Propane Fitting to Ensure You Are Getting the Correct Adapter Fitting
Yes, there is a way to measure the fitting size to ensure it is the correct size to use with the Propane Adapter Fitting # 37207-30225. The best way to do this would be to use a digital caliper like the # PTW80157. A 1/4" NPT fitting should measure 0.540". I have included a chart that shows the measurements of the fittings and a help article about propane fittings.

  • How To Connect A Suburban Elite Griddle To A Disposable 16oz Propane Cylinder
From what I can see there are a few different models with different connections, with the 3/8" male inverted flare (MIF) being the most common. If this is the case for you then you'll need the following parts: The Propane Adapter Fitting # 37207-30225 will connect to the 3/8" fitting on your griddle. From there you'll connect the 1/4" male NPT fitting of the Quick Disconnect Propane Hose # 37207-31195 to it. The female 1/4" NPT of the quick disconnect on the other end of the hose will...

  • Is the JR Products 3/8 Inch Female SAE x 1/4 Inch Female NPT Fitting Left or Right Hand Thread
The Propane Adapter Fitting - 3/8" Female SAE Flare x 1/4" Female NPT #37207-30225, like most propane fittings, is a standard right hand thread fitting. These fittings are typically used on propane regulators to adapt a pigtail hose with a smaller fitting. The only standard propane fittings that are left hand thread are POL fittings, like part # 204128-MBS.

  • Adding A Quick Disconnect Propane Line To Your Grill

Then you'll need a quick disconnect hose which will be part # 37207-31225 for a 6' hose and part # Item # 37207-31235 for a 12' hose I recommend using some thread sealant tape part # 37207-30025 to ensure your connections stay tight and to prevent any leaks. • Parts Needed To Add A Quick Disconnect Fitting To An RV Grill
Since there aren't double male quick disconnect hoses available the only way to have a quick disconnect at both the grill and RV would be to have a male quick disconnect fitting on the grill like part # 401132-MBS and use a hose like part # 37207-31235. To do this you'll need to connect part # CAM57633 to the 3/8" male flare fitting on your grill to get the swivel function you're looking for. From there you'll need to use part # 37207-30225 and can then add on the quick disconnect # 401132-MBS....
