Video Transcript for All You Need to Know About the Flair-It PEX Male Adapter Fitting

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Flair-It PEX adapter fitting. Now this adapter is going to connect your pipes and hoses in your RV's fresh water plumbing system. So whether you're repairing a leaky connection, or installing new lines, this will be a great option for you. This will work with your PEX pipes, the old gray PB pipes, as well as the polyvinyl tubing. So on the one end here, we are going to have a half inch MPT connection, that's gonna fit hoses and tubes with a half inch FPT fitting.

On the other end, we have our half inch barbed connection that's gonna fit your hoses and tubes with a half inch inner diameter. So the way this works, you're not gonna need any tools to get it installed. So, basically you'll just take your compression end here, slide that over your tube, and then you'll take that barbed end, and you'll put it into the tube. That make might take some doing. It might have to wiggle it back and forth, and apply quite a bit of pressure there.

But then once that's in, you'll just slide that compression end over top, and then tighten that down. And that's gonna create a nice secure fit for you. I actually did this myself on a similar piece the other night. And I was really impressed by how secure that connection is. While I was able to tighten it down by hand, I actually had to use some vice grips to get that back off.

So it is gonna be a very secure connection. One thing I will note, is that it can take a little bit of leverage to get the barb into your hose. So if you are gonna be working in a confined space under a cabinet or something like that, might be a good idea to put your fitting on the hose first, and then take it into your cabinet, so you have enough room to work on it. But this is a polyoxyethylene construction. So it is gonna be very durable for you, resistant to stress cracking and that sort of thing.

So it will hold up well. Now, I do want to point out that that this is just one of the many different types of connections that we have available here at etrailer.com. So if you are gonna be making multiple connections for your project, I would encourage you to check out those others, and make sure that you're gonna have everything that you need for your project. And that completes our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching.
