Is Progressive Dynamics 9300 Converter Lithium Battery Compatible

Updated 08/28/2025 | Published 08/27/2025

Question:

I working on upgrading my 30amp Rv to Lithium batteries. If I install 1 12volt 300 amp hour lithium battery, is the Progressive dynamics 9300 30 amp converter compatible? Would I gain any performance by going with the 60 amp converter?

Hey Gerald, the Progressive Dynaimcs 9300 converter part # PD49RR is lithium battery compatible so it would work just fine with a 300 amp hour lithium battery. It would take basically 10 hours to completely charge your battery if it was totally dead so going with a 60 amp part # PD79RR would charge it in half the time. So what you would gain is a much faster charge.

Thanks for your response. I also have 4 100 watt solar panels on my RV with a 40 mppt regulater/charger which is compatible with Lithium batteries. If I install the 30 amp Progressive Dynamics charger, will this work? Also, I will have a 5 to 6 foot run between the panel and converter. What size wire will I need on both the AC input to the converter and the DC output from the converter?

@GeraldH Yes it will work because with 12 volt power sources you can have more than one connected without causing issues unlike AC power. So having the Progressive dynamics charger connected as well as your solar charger setup would work just fine. For a 30 amp charge 10 gauge wire like the part # 10-1-1 that we sell by the foot would work great for a 5 to 6 foot run like yo have.
