Looking For Replacement Jack For Jayco Tent Trailer
Updated 05/29/2026 | Published 05/23/2026 >
Question:
I am trying to find a replacement jack for my Jayco tent trailer. All the jacks I find have an outside circumfrance of 7 inches which is too big for the hole in my frame. I need one that is 6 1/2 inch. I also need the one with the lower retracted height. I see one with 5 1/8 and that is close and would probably work but it doesnt mention the circumfrance of the needs to fit through the hole in the frame.

Hey Clark, thanks for reaching out. You are needing an A-frame jack, right? Most of the ones we carry have a tube OD of 2-1/4". I'm not aware of anything with a 6-1/2" tube diameter.
What is the diameter of the hole in your A-frame?

I installed this jack on my trailer. The outer tube is 2 1/4 diameter, the foot plate on the drop leg is 5 1/8, but it will drop completely out to insert the jack thru the mounting hole, then just put it back into the jack leg. It solved my problem of needing more clearance between jack foot and ground.

I had the same problem on a 1966 vintage travel trailer. The old jack had a 1-7/8" outer tube, I used a, Lichamp Jumbo 2-3/8" Unibit Step Drill Bit for Metal, Extra Large Drill Stepper Bit for Hard Metal Heavy Duty, 12 Sizes from 1/4" to 2-3/8", Spiral Grooved, C5BK from Amazon to bore the hole to fit the new jack diameter. I had 2 levels to go thru, now no problem any jack I want will fit. Installed the etrailer Electric Trailer Jack - Drop Leg - A-Frame - 18" Lift - 5,000 lbs Part Number: e55ZV works great.
