Padded, Ratcheting Hooks

Swagman Traveler XC2 2-Bike Carrier

The XTC-2's mast has a pair of ratcheting hooks that hold your bikes securely by the top tube. And because they move independently, you can carry bikes of different shapes and sizes. The hooks have soft padding that won't scratch or scuff your bike's paint.

Sliding Wheel Hoops

Swagman Traveler XC2 2-Bike Carrier

The rack has wheel hoops that provide a stable base for mounting your bikes. Each hoop has a hand knob that lets you easily slide it along the tray to accommodate your bike's wheelbase. It also includes a rubber strap on each hoop that secures your bike's wheels to the rack. If you need to carry fat bikes, there are hoops (sold separately) that let you carry bikes with tires up to 5" wide.

Folding Design

Swagman Traveler XC2 2-Bike CarrierSwagman Traveler XC2 2-Bike Carrier

You can fold the mast down for easy access to your hatch. Simply pull the pin at the base of the mast and fold it down in either direction. You can also fold the trays up against the mast for storage. Just pull the pins at the junctions where the trays meet the rack, fold the trays up, and reinsert the pins into the provided holes.

Anti-Rattle Hitch Pin and Removable Adapter Sleeve

Adapter Sleeve

The rack includes a threaded hitch pin and a clip that work with a built-in anti-wobble device in the shank to eliminate rattle in the hitch receiver during transport. You can replace the pin and clip with an anti-rattle lock (sold separately) to secure the bike carrier to your vehicle. It also has a removable aluminum sleeve that lets you convert the rack for use in 1-1/4" hitches.

  • Bike Rack Needed to Clear Rear Doors of a 2016 Ram ProMaster
When the center mast on the Curt # C18085 is folded down it measures about 10-1/2". This is from the bottom of the shank that goes into the receiver on your 2016 Ram ProMaster and was taken with the 2" adapter on. So if you have a 2" receiver just measure 10-1/2" from the bottom of your receiver opening but if you have a 1-1/4" receiver you will need to subtract about 3/4" which means you will measure 9-3/4" from the bottom of your receiver.

  • Platform-Style Hitch-Mount Bike Rack for 2 Electra Townie Step-Through Frame Bikes
Your Electra Townie step-through-frame bikes pose a challenge to finding a suitable hitch-mount carrier since the bikes lack both a top frame tube and since they have fenders. These features make most carriers unsuitable since most use either the top frame tube or the front tire as the contact point for the arm that holds the bikes in place. One carrier from Thule, their EasyFold 2 Bike Rack # TH903202, includes some great features that may make it a good choice for you. It has a ramp...

  • Compatibility of Curt Trailer Hitch with Swagman XTC-2 for Electric Bike Rack for 2007 Honda Accord
For your application I recommend going with the Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount - Tilting # C18085 because it is compatible with a Class I hitch like the Curt Trailer Hitch # C11290 for your 2007 Honda Accord, and it has a weight capacity of 45 lbs per bike. Since the Swagman XTC-2 # S64670 that you referenced is only compatible with up to 35 lb bikes and you have a 50 lb bike then you cannot safely use this combination. When you remove the battery on your...

  • RV Compatible Platform Bike Racks
The Swagman Dispatch 2 Bike Platform Rack - 2" Hitches # S44FR is the platform bike rack I recommend that is compatible with RV and travel trailer use. It is a very nice bike rack that holds your bikes in 3 spots. It has the similar ratcheting hooks, but uses a different style wheel cradle. This rack has a fold down mast, but the rest of the frame is rigid to give the support needed for RV use. The Swagman Platform-Style 2 Bike Rack for 2" Hitches for RV Bumpers # S64663. is a bike...

  • Does Curt Trailer Hitch for 2010 Nissan Cube Require Stabilizing Strap for Bike Rack
I can confirm for you that the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11202 for your 2010 Nissan Cube does require a stabilizing strap for use with a bike rack item # 18050. So you can use this rack and hitch combo on your Nissan. The Thule Doubletrack Pro XT Bike Rack # TH92BJ is a great choice for a bike rack because it offers a ton of value. It is a premium rack from a company, Thule, known for their quality but at a great price relative to other racks.

  • E-Bike Rack Recommendation for Carrying 2 Blix E-Bikes
I looked up the Blix e-bikes and they weigh just under 50 lbs and have a very low crosstube which is common for e-bikes. So the Swagman XTC2 part # S64670 is a great bike rack but it does not have the weight capacity you need as it has a 35 lb per bike capacity. So for a similar rack that does have the capacity needed you'd want the part # HLY74FR which has a weight capacity of 80 lbs per bike and was designed for carrying the heavier e-bikes. I attached a review video for more info on...

  • Will a Trunk Mount Bike Rack or Hitch Mount Bike Rack Allow For Better Rear View Camera Visibility
That is certainly a tough question to answer as it can vary from vehicle to vehicle, bike to bike, as well as where the camera is located so I am not sure I would have a good answer for you. I looked at both the Swagman XTC-2 2-Bike Platform Rack part # S64670 and the Saris Bones 2 Bike Carrier part # SA805BL. It appears that most of the time, a trunk mounted bike rack will position the bike(s) so that the center cutout section is inline with the license plate which is where the rearview...

  • Bike Rack Recommendation for 2015 Toyota Prius V for Carrying Bike With Step Through Frame
The Swagman XTC2 part # S64670 that you referenced would be a great option for you. This is one of our best selling racks and it works great on the Toyota Prius like yours. The wheel straps really don't do much as the hook of the rack is what really secures the bikes to it. I attached a review video for this rack for you to check out as well on a Prius like yours. • Carrying a 40 Pound Bike on a Trailer Hitch Receiver Mounted Bike Rack With a 2012 Mazda 3
The Swagman XTC-2, part # S64670, won't be able to carry a 40 pound bike. The weight maximums of the racks are very much set in stone, as the location of the weight of the bike changes the physics of the bike rack's ride and can cause damage if exceeded. Instead, I recommend the Swagman's Chinook, part # S64683. This rack adds a few features to the rack and an increased capacity to 45 pounds. Specifically over the XTC-2, it adds integrated hitch and bike locks, tilt away and fold up features...

  • Best Trailer Hitch for Use with Bike Rack on a 2014 Chevrolet Impala LTZ
The best trailer hitch we have for your 2014 Chevrolet Impala LTZ is the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 36538 which is a custom fit and will not require any drilling. The Draw-Tite option is a Class II hitch with a 1-1/4" receiver tube opening. I like the Draw-Tite hitches as they do not require the use of an added support strap like the Curt hitches will. You can see how it installs using the attached video on a similar 2015 Chevrolet Impala. Please note that you will be limited...

The Swagman XTC-2 # S64670 would be a great choice for your recumbent bike, as it will accept your 46 inch wheel base. The XTC-2 rack does have a weight limit of 35 pounds per bike, so you will want to make sure your bike does not weigh more than 35 pounds.

Swagman doesn't offer a ramp that's compatible with their # S64670 XTC2 bike rack, but I can provide you with a tip that will help make loading your bike easier. Stand the bike up so it's right next to the rack with the front wheel about two feet to the side of the end of the carrier. If you used the adapter that came with your Swagman XTC-2 2-Bike Platform Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" Trailer Hitches # S64670, the threaded pin will work for use with or without the adapter. There is a specific way to install that adapter, so I wonder if you have it switched because one hole is bigger than the other hole on that part, so reversing it could cause the issue it sounds like you are hitting. I suggest swapping the direction of those holes and trying the pin again. If you want...

The towing capacity restrictions of the Curt ball mount part # D210 are pretty odd but basically if you were to use it with a bike rack like the XTC # S64670 you mentioned the capacity would not be reduced. I really like the Lippert Jack-It part # LC429756 for people in your situation though as it gives you a way to carry a couple bikes above the propane tanks and does not affect the towing capacity.
