Question:

Hi Kyle, I ended up going with the Swagman XTC-2 platform rack. I would recommend to your customers, if they buy the Swagman platform rack, to buy the nifty Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock with Cable set (S64031). I didn't know about that set and bought only the Anti-Rattle Hitch lock :( Does eTrailer sell just the special cable separately so I can purchase?

I can confirm for you that the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11202 for your 2010 Nissan Cube does require a stabilizing strap for use with a bike rack item # 18050. So you can use this rack and hitch combo on your Nissan.

The Thule Doubletrack Pro XT Bike Rack # TH92BJ is a great choice for a bike rack because it offers a ton of value. It is a premium rack from a company, Thule, known for their quality but at a great price relative to other racks.

I can confirm for you that the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24845 for your 2010 Nissan Cube does NOT require a stabilizing strap for use with a bike rack. So you can use this rack and hitch combo on your Nissan and do not have to use the strap. The Thule Doubletrack Pro XT Bike Rack # TH92BJ is a great choice for a bike rack because it offers a ton of value. It is a premium rack from a company, Thule, known for their quality but at a great price relative to other racks.

So in regards to the Thule Camber 2-Bike Rack # TH9058 and Thule Doubletrack 2-Bike Rack # TH92BJ, there is only a slight weight advantage to using one over the other, the Camber can carry 75 lbs (37.5 lbs per bike) and the Doubletrack having a 70 lb (35 lb per bike) weight capacity. Additionally, in terms of bike weight, the Camber weighs 28 lbs and the Doubletrack weighs 36 lbs. We haven't tested the Roadway on a Cube to know if it will allow the swing-out door of the Cube to open, but that is highly unlikely because the Roadway doesn't fold all the way horizontally. Between the two, I strongly recommend going with the Doubletrack because platform racks are a more stable way to carry bikes, and because it is a better value. The reason for that is because the Doubletrack comes with a lock to secure the rack toy our hitch, but the Camber requires you buy that separately, the Thule Snug Tite Hitch Lock and Anti-Rattle Device # THSTL2. Additionally, because the Camber is a hanging rack, if you have an alternative frame bike (sometimes referred to as women's bikes) or a small child's bike, you will need the Thule Bike Adapter Bar for Women's and Alternative Frame Bikes # TH982XT, something you don't need with the Doubletrack. So while the function of both is technically the same - carrying bikes - the security for your bikes and the rack itself, as well as the value, is substantially in favor of the Thule Doubletrack 2-Bike Rack # TH990XT. The Swagman XTC-2 2-Bike Platform Rack # S64670 is a good choice and is one of the most popular bike racks we carry so I'm sure you'll be happy with it. As for the Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock and Cable for Swagman Bike Racks w/ 1-1/4" & Combo Shanks # S64031, yes, just the cable lock is sold separately. What you need is: - Replacement Cable for Swagman Bike Rack and Hitch Locks # S2005 As for the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11202, you are right, there should be more info about what to do with the heat shield, but cutting it away is generally what the directions call for on vehicles that have the shield and is what I recommend.
