Built for easy handling without sacrificing strength, the Sherpa 2.0 hauls two bikes—up to 40 lbs each—on a lightweight 32-lb aluminum frame. The platform design with a 1-1/4" hitch connection keeps things steady without extra tools or heavy lifting. Its pearl metallic powder coat not only looks sharp but resists rust, so it stays clean mile after mile.
Carbon frames and custom paint deserve care. The Sherpa 2.0’s ratcheting hooks grab each bike by the front wheel—never the frame—so nothing rubs or scrapes in transit. The pivoting rear cradles self-adjust to different wheelbases up to 47" and secure everything with a ratcheting strap. Each cradle fits tires up to 3.0" wide, keeping road bikes, gravel bikes, and most trail setups locked in and damage-free.
Reaching your cargo is simple thanks to the spring-loaded foot pedal. Step on it to tilt the rack down, even with bikes loaded, so you can grab your gear without unloading. When you’re done riding, fold the rack up for a clean, compact fit that stays clear of bumpers and backup cameras.
No wrenches required. Slide the Sherpa 2.0 into your hitch and twist the front-mounted knob until snug. The internal anti-rattle wedge locks it firm to eliminate play at the hitch, and the keyed-alike hitch pin adds extra security. It’s a quick install that’s steady on the road and easy to remove when the ride’s over.
A 6' x 1/4" locking cable secures both bikes to the rack, while a matching lock on the hitch pin keeps the rack attached. Both use the same key, so one turn locks it all down. Whether you’re stopping for coffee or calling it a day, the Sherpa 2.0 keeps your setup safe and ready for the next ride.

Took my time to pick out just the right platform rack. Absolutely hate to have to buy things twice. etrailer was just the place to do the research and eventually place the order. Can't find a better website with more objective information. That said, we are loving this choice. The Kuat Sherpa 2.0 is exactly the right fit for the truck (F150 4X4) and how we plan to use this unit to camp and bike. One of the critical features for us was that the platform rack, minus bikes, had to fit under the tailgate when gate was dropped fully down. Many, many of the otherwise very nice platform racks will not meet this requirement. Many of these will scrape your paint and dent your tailgate. With respect to the Kuat Sherpa, there is a full 2" clearance with the gate fully dropped, so no sweat there. Next, the unit had to be lightweight and with an easy on and off system. Heavy racks that require a ratchet to complete the install simply were not going to work for us. The Kuat is made out of tough tube aluminum, with a nice powder coat finish and weighs just over 30lbs, plus there are no tools required to install and secure it to the hitch. The rack locks in place with a simple hand-tightening cam system using a single, easy to get to, well-designed knob. Finally, carbon frame maybe in your future? Okay, again the Kuat fits the bill. This is a "no frame" contact, extremely easy bike load design. No exaggeration, the rack goes from garage to truck hitch, bikes loaded/secured, and then we're backing out of the drive in under 15 minutes. Did I mention how lightweight it is? Love the fact that I am thinking about the bike ride and not worrying about how I am getting the bikes there.
Beautiful product!! Love it. Easy to assemble; sturdy, well-designed, easy to use. Supports my two Specialized Roll 3 bikes (fat tires and all) beautifully. Easy to fit to my hitch receiver on my Rav 4; the lever arm is very easy to use - either to fold up after use or to recline for access to the rear car door. I live in the city so I pull the rack off and put it in my trunk space until the next use. Great locks to secure the rack and very handy and clever lock system for the bikes.
Got a little frustrated with assembly and called etrailer. Turns out leaving the hitch section in the box is very helpful for assembly but Kuat doesn’t mention that until p. 4 of instructions! Too late for me. Kevin at etrailer helped me through it. Sara R. helped with purchase questions. Absolutely love the function of the rack. Easy pivot with the pedal. Bikes are secured. Looks good when folded up and is not obtrusive.
We love this bike rack for its ease of use and solid construction. Bikes are quick and easy to load in and lock down tight. The hitch-receiver tightening system works great for a wobble-free rack and the hinge and locking lever work smooth and solid. It looks nice too.

Fabulous bike rack, almost too pretty to use!!! The pearl white goes great with our new pearl white Crosstrek, very cool!!! Took me about 15 minutes to assemble and hook it up to the car. Very well engineered and extremely stable. As you can tell, I love this bike rack. Far superior to other racks on the market.

I love m Kuat Sherpa 2.0 bike rack for 2 and I love etrailer! I had ordered this rack originally through a different company only to be told 3 mos later that it would not be coming at all. Then I found etrailer a few months later and not only did they have it and send it out right away, but they had the perfect color that matched my car exactly! I get comments about how great it seems from strangers and fellow cyclists all the time.It is easy to use. I did need my son in law to put it together for me and my cousin to mount it on my car. I highly recommend this product and etrailer!

Solid well built bike carrier. This lightweight chassis is much easier to install and remove versus competitors. That’s a plus. Pearl color looks great with my CRV.

Very nice rack. I looked far and wide and finally settled on this one. I wanted a light weight rack that I could easily remove when not in use. I also wanted something that had a lock and a professional paint job and could handle two bikes and would not block my rear window view.
I had to loosen two of the large factory tightened bolts to get everything to line up during assembly but no big deal in the end. Mounted on a Mazda CX-5. Seems to hold bikes securely. It works great.
I love my bike rack. I have been pleased with the way it functions. The only complaint I have is that it sits loosely in the hitch and rocks a lot when I'm driving. I wouldn't really give a 5, but a 4 is unfair. I would say a 4.5

Still love this bike rack after one year however, a note of caution is warranted. Kuat advises to place the front tire holder as close to the fork as possible. I placed a very expensive bike with fenders on the rack and put the front tire holder just in front of fender because I didn’t want to bend the fender against the tire. As I was going down the road the bike rocked and the front of bike fell off. The bike was damaged as it was dragged along the pavement for several feet. Just remember to put the front holder as close to the fork as possible and you will love this rack.

It came dissembled and I’m not great with instructions manuals... when I got stuck I [watched] a video on installation of the rack and this made it much better. I love the rack and it was delivered next day! The company is close to home, which I did not even realize, and it felt good to support a local business in the middle of pandemic (and always).
I am very happy with my purchase!!! It all began with a pleasant experience contacting Etrailer to confirm that the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 would work with my Class 1 1-1/4" hitch on my 2011 Honda CRV. Roger answered my questions and assisted me with placing my order. I ordered on a Monday and I received it on Thursday in California! It did take me about 2 hours to assemble because I initially tried to follow the written instructions that were in the box. I remembered that several reviewers said that they recommend that you follow the You Tube videos for the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 assembly instructions. Once I followed the videos the assembly was a snap! The bike rack is very sturdy despite weighing in at 35 lbs. I am a 60 year old relatively athletic female and have no problem attaching the bike rack to my hitch! Here's hoping the bike rack holds up for years to come!
