Features to know about

Stable Support for Every Ride: 40 lb Capacity Per Bike

Each arm of the Kuat Transfer V2 holds up to 40 lbs per bike, giving solid support for road, gravel, and mountain setups. The platform-style rack carries up to 4 bicycles with a 50" maximum wheelbase and 3.0" maximum tire width, making it versatile without overcomplicating the loading process. The steel construction with a black powder coat keeps it sturdy and rust resistant, so it feels dependable every time you load up for a ride.

Simplified Loading and Unloading: U-Shaped Frame Design

Traditional platform racks can make you reach awkwardly over the frame, but the Transfer V2’s U-shaped base lets you step inside the rack for easy access. It’s easier to lift bikes into position without stretching or bumping into other bikes, and when folded, it doesn’t block the backup camera. This small design change makes a big difference when you’re loading multiple bikes or moving quickly between rides.

Kuat Transfer V2 U-shaped frame allowing easy bike loading and improved rear visibility.

Smooth Access on the Go: Foot Lever for Tilt and Fold

With the spring-loaded foot pedal, you can tilt the rack down with bikes loaded to reach your cargo area or fold it up for storage when empty. The pedal is easy to reach even when all four bikes are mounted, and because your hands stay free, lowering or raising the rack feels controlled and stable. It’s a straightforward solution that saves time when you need quick access without unloading.

Secure by Design: Ratcheting Hooks and Locking System

Ratcheting hooks grab each bike firmly by the front wheel—never the frame—keeping carbon and painted finishes safe. The pivoting rear-wheel cradles adjust automatically to different wheelbases and secure with ratcheting straps. An 8-mm security wrench and hitch pin come included to tighten the tamper-resistant flatlock cam, reducing any hitch movement. A 1/4" braided steel cable lock loops through all your bike frames and locks back into the rack for an added layer of protection.

Quick Setup, Lasting Fit: Anti-Rattle Cam System

Installing the Transfer V2 is straightforward. Slide the 2" shank into the hitch receiver and tighten the flatlock cam with the included wrench. The built-in anti-rattle wedge takes out hitch play for a snug, stable ride. Once everything’s cinched down, you’ve got a clean, quiet connection ready for every ride ahead.

This 4-bike rack is perfect for the serious cyclist and occasional riders. It's safe for carbon frames, has a foot pedal that lets you use both hands to tilt for trunk access and fold for storage, and the U-shaped design makes it easy to load.

by:

We love this bike rack. We bought a couple ebikes and needed something we could use behind our travel trailer when camping and the truck when we just want to drive to some trails. When we were looki g, many can't be used behind travel trailers. We absolutely love the way its built - its sturdy, high quality, pretty easy to put together - good instructions. Love the tilting feature - use one foot - very easy. Love that it comes with the cable lock for the bikes, It is very adjustable for a wide range of bikes. We have step throughs. We did buy a hitch lock for extra security. We would recommend this rack to anyone.

by:

The Kuat Transfer V2 Rack and hitch were the perfect solution to carrying our new ebike. Recommended by an employee at the bike shop, we've been pleased by the ease of use for securely carrying the bike, and how it easily tips down for easy access to the back gate of our station wagon. It's easy to remove from the hitch, which we did for the winter to spare it from the elements when it wasn't going to be used for several months, I can recommend this carrier without reservations.

by:

Very difficult to load bike on rack. The connection to the hitch wobbles. Took a long time and expense to get hitch installed, but that isn’t a fault of the bike rack.

by:

Rack seems well made but rear wheel holder is a little small. Built in anti rattle is great. Lack of printed assembly instructions was a pain for an old guy. Trying to read a PDF on a phone is not ideal.

by:

This rack is the BOMB!! Holds your bikes very very well. No shaking or bouncing. You get what you pay for! Kuat makes quality racks. Had a Thule before. This one is 10 times better. Very easy to put in and take out of your hitch each time you use it. Easy to tilt and get into your vehicle. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for a good bike rack that will last a long time and give you peace of mind while driving to your ride destination. Use it along with a high quality class lII hitch. (2" receiver).

by:

This rack came very well packaged with easy instructions to follow. It took about 1 hour to put it together. It is a very high quality product. We have it on our Subaru Crosstrek and it doesn't interfere with opening the back hatch when the rack is in the down position. The bikes are a breeze to load and unload. I highly recommend this bike rack.

by:

Very high-quality product with straightforward installation instructions. Would highly recommend!

by:

Description matches product. Solid product, the online instructions were easy to follow to assemble rack. Needed a quality rack to mount on back of my 5th wheel, this is it.

by:

great rack, easy to assemble. honest shipping eta.

by:

The service was great, as is all the info they have available on line. The product is great, too. It was nice to get such personal treatment. Most appreciated.

by:

My husband and I are in our 60's and had no problem putting this together as per instructions. It's a good solid rack, no wobble even with my big 35 pound 29'er. It easily clears our steep curb on the back of our Subaru Outback. The hatch clears the bike and there's plenty of room to move between the car and bike in that tilt position. We loaded our car for vacation with the bike on the rack. It's a bonus to be able to leave it all on the car in our garage. We also bought the Drawtite 2" hitch from etrailer.com. We're very happy with this setup!

by:

Great single bike rack!

by:

Works very well and is easy to load. Tilting it down to open the hatch is a little hard with three bikes on the rack. Well built and I like the hitch tightening bolt.

by:

Best bike rack I have owned, I have owned at least 5 racks on the past 19 years and this one is the best one. Durable, lightweight, and fits the profile of my car perfectly!

by:

Overall I like the product, installation was fairly simple following directions. Haven’t taken it on the road yet as I just put together.Seems sturdy although I do have a lite bike.I do have one complaint and that would be the flimsy hitch pin.Its paper thin and I believe the hole should have been made bigger to accept a standard pin.Its paper thin, also doesn’t come with a lock pin which I just purchased separately. We will see how it holds up on a 2600mile trip it will be going on.

by:

I knew I wanted this specific bike rack, and I was 100% right. It's amazing. Takes me less than 5 minutes to attached the receiver to back of my car (I'm using a Stealth Hitch on a 2024 Volvo S60) and to insert the bike rack, tighten everything down, and load the bike. It's so easy, I think I could do it with my eyes closed. It's perfect for someone with one bike. It does stick out a bit with only one bike, so keep that in mind if you plan to buy the add on's for future bikes you want to carry simultaneously. It also does obscure the camera view a bit when reversing, because obviously. All in all, I love this thing as much as I love my bike. Perfect companion.

by:

Very solid rack for one e-MTB. Was concerned about the 1.5”/2” “variable” fit for receivers and I am happy to report that it sits very securely with the retaining ball mechanism.

For Tesla owners - My car uses FSD and with the rack folded, there hasn’t been interference. So, the one bike version doesn’t interfere with the rear camera. I don’t know if the 2 or more bike rack would interfere. Printed, clear instructions would be very helpful.

Great rack - thanks

by:

Great product. Solid. I purchased the single, and it works great with MTB. Bike has wide handle bars. So I was worried there might not be enough space between tailgate and bike. No issues though. Easy to get bike off and on rack. Steady on the highway. Love it.

by:

Product was excellent

by:

This is a great rack, and for the quality and ease of use, it's an affordable rack that provides confidence in knowing that my bikes are secure. I've used this for longer road trips and everything stays right where I put it, and I love the way it tightens inside the trailer hitch. I purchased a lockable hitch bolt to further secure the rack so I don't need to worry about anything. Being as long as it is and relatively heavy, it's a little unwieldy to use the foot pedal to release it and put it up, but it's not a deterrent in my opinion.

by:

hooked it all up, works as expected. very stable.

by:

This is an outstanding rack. It is amazing how quickly we can load four bikes on it compared to other racks we have used. It is a little heavier than other racks but easy and accommodating once on the vehicle as far as loading/unloading and foding against the tailgate. We have taken it out on multiple road trips and it has done really well over the road. I would highly recommend this one.

by:

Product is fantastic! The assembly instructions are a bit backwards.

by:

Easy to set up bikes, very sturdy. Love the lock that’s part of it. I am 140 pound woman and can put the trailer into my hitch on my own but it’s heavy. My husband set it up in an hour and a half.

  • Choosing Between Curt, etrailer, and Draw-Tite Hitches for 2024 Toyota Venza LE Hybrid
Hey Tanner! These hitches are all pretty similar so it can be hard to decide between them. If I were you I would choose the Curt # C77MJ over the other two. The Curt # C77MJ and etrailer # e84ZV actually share the same design, and both have the concealed cross tube just like the Draw-Tite # DT46MR. The only thing that will be visible for all three hitches is the receiver hanging down at the back. The difference in capacity compared to the Draw-Tite isn't a big deal since they all meet...

  • Is The Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack for 4 Bikes KU77FR Compatible With etrailer Class 3 Hitch e98853
Hello Dan, thanks for reaching out. The Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # KU77FR is indeed compatible with the etrailer Class 3 Hitch # e98853. The hitch has a 2" receiver and a 525 lb tongue weight capacity so more than enough for 4 bikes. I have a 2013 Sienna with a similar hitch on it. That van is actually very stout when it comes to cargo carrying so you will be able to carry 4 bikes without issue. Just be careful on steep inclines. The hitch does ride a little bit low and...

  • Can Thule Revert 4 Bike Rack Fit Hitch with 1 inch Between Pin and Hitch Face
Hey Aj, I wish there was a work around but Thule is says there is no way to use the Revert bike rack part # TH73VA with a hitch that has less than 1.5 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the face of the hitch opening. Would you be open to using a different 4 bike rack without that restriction like the Kuat Transfer V2 part # KU77FR which is a platform bike rack. What kind of bikes do you have?

  • Has The Kuat Transfer V2 Recall Been Fixed

  • Will 1-Bike Add-On for Kuat Transfer V1 Work with 3-Bike Rack
I do have an option for you but the 1 Bike Add-On for Kuat Transfer V1 1-Bike Platform Rack part # TSAOB is only compatible with the single bike carriers. Therefore, if you want to carry four bikes you'll need a new carrier, I recommend the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack for 4 Bikes part # KU77FR which is the updated design of the rack you have now and it allows for more bikes to be carried. The new version offers a wider range of bike fits, better finish, and more stability while loaded. The...

  • Bike Rack Recommendation for 4 Bikes on a 2021 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid
The 175 lb tongue weight rating is what I'm seeing in the owner's manual for your 2021 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid as well, so even though the Curt Trailer Hitch # C13416 has a tongue weight rating of 600 lbs, the 175 lb rating of your vehicle is the limiting factor so we'll want to choose a bike rack according to that rating instead. The Thule T2 Pro X # TH26ZE does weigh in at just over 100 lbs so for a lighter alternative I recommend the Kuat Transfer V2 # KU77FR. This weighs in at 73 lbs, can...

It looks like the Kuat 4 Bike Racks : # KU77FR, # NV22B-NA22B, # KU58ZR, & # KU45VR you're referring to, all require a 2" hitch and unfortunately only a class I 1 1/4" hitch is offered for your Mazda. If you're needing a hitch, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C49CR will work great, but you're not going to be able to use your 4 bike rack. The only way any of those bike racks would physically fit is if you used a hitch expander # HTAD, but using an adapter would effectively cut your...

Thank you for the picture. It looks like the Hollywood Racks Destination Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # HR4000 might work with your Trek Y-22 and Y-Foil. Because of the strap style of attachment, it may work with the smaller portion of bottom frame. But I have no way to verify the fitment with your specific bike. Because of the unique frame and because your frame is made of carbon, I would recommend a wheel mount style bike rack like the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # KU77FR. This rack...

  • Is Thule T2 Pro X Bike Rack Compatible with Kids Bikes
Hey Fulton, thanks for reaching out! The Thule T2 Pro X Bike Rack # TH26ZE is compatible with 20" - 29" wheel diameters so it will work with smaller bikes, but not if you have smaller kids bikes with something like a 18" wheel. The Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # KU77FR has a wider range of wheel compatibility at 18" - 29" and has specs that match pretty close to the Pro X so I recommend checking out the Transfer V2 if your kids bikes have an 18" wheel.

The manufacturer has to test the bike rack and give their approval for it to be rated for flat towing. It basically all comes down to just liability. • 4 Bike Platform Rack Solution for Toyota Highlander that Allows Rear Cargo Access with Bikes Loaded
I have a solution for you but none of the tilting platform bike racks would provide enough clearance for the rear hatch to open with bikes loaded and rack tilted down. Instead you would want to go with a pivoting bike rack solution like the Kuat Transfer V2 # KU77FR with the pivoting adapter part # PVP20B. This adapter would allow the rack to swing out completely from the rear of the vehicle to give you totally unrestricted access to rear cargo area.

Hello Michelle. To answer your first question, the Kuat Transfer 4 # KU77FR should not touch the ground when tilted on a 2023 Hyundai Tucson with the Curt Class 3 Hitch # C94WR, but it will be very close. We tested this bike rack on a 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon, which has a very similar hitch height to the 2023 Tucson.
