Video Transcript for Review of Trimax Locks Hitch Anti-Rattle - Universal Anti Rattle Clamp 2-1/2 Inch Hitch - TMX66SR

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this Trimax Universal Anti-Rattle Clamp for your Class 5 trailer hitch. Now, this anti-rattle clamp is going to let you enjoy your ride without the soundtrack of a loose ball mount. This is going to silence the noise. It's going to get rid of any annoying rattles and vibrations. Now, this is going to be a universal fit.

This is going to work with your 2 1/2-inch Class 5 trailer hitch receivers, and I do wanna point out that the hitch receiver must have a ring or a collar around it for the clamp to attach, as you can see right here. Now, I do have the card that comes in the packaging there, just to give you an idea of what I'm talking about here, just to give you a better demonstration here of how this is actually going to secure to your trailer hitch receiver. So, you're just going to install this, and then hand tighten the included wing nuts there. It's gonna give you a rock-solid hold. It's gonna keep your hitch firmly in place so you can tow with confidence, not clatter.

This itself is a very durable, very rugged piece of equipment, so I think it's gonna last you a long time. It's got this great finish on here that I think is gonna do a great job of resisting the elements that it's going to be constantly exposed to. If you happen to have any other additional questions, maybe you have some questions and I didn't answer them during our time together, don't hesitate to reach back out to us. Ultimately, we wanna make sure that you're getting exactly what you want and need. But I think that's gonna wrap up our quick look today.

I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me.

I apologize for our pictures being incorrect. It looks like Trimax changed the design without letting us know and this does now come with wingnuts. We will be getting this page updated as soon as possible. Is this something that will no longer work for you?

by:

Installed for first use, threaded the nut on by hand and tightened with a wrench (purchased last year and it came with regular hex nuts not wing nuts) but when I went to remove it, the nut seemed cross threaded and then just snapped off the bottom of the bolt, making the whole clamp unusable.

I am very sorry to hear this Walter. This item is only meant to be hand tightened as it says in the description. Did you tighten the one from last year the same way?

by:

Works as advertised! Stops the horrible clunking when stopping and starting that you get without it. Easy to install with a socket wrench and comes right off when needed with the same socket wrench. You actually only need to loosen to remove from receiver and you can leave it on the hitch during storage.

That's great to hear, Chris! That chucking is no joke sometimes. What are you usually towing?

by:

wing nuts suck go back to 3/4 nuts

by:

Clamp is just what I needed and is very heavy duty and looks to be very durable. 4 because the delivery took longer than promised. I would recommend and would use Etrailer again.

by:

Great product, would purchase again!

by:

Product did exactly what it was supposed to do. Costumer service and shipping speed was top notch.

by:

This attaches easily and takes all the noise and clatter out if the receiver hitch

by:

You really cannot go wrong with anything that Trimax makes. This anti-rattle clamp is one of the best I've ever used. Superior quality and it clamps down to the hitch and receiver so well that it completely eliminates all movement at the connection point. What's more, it did not loosen at all while I was hauling a loaded trailer.

by:

This is exactly what I wanted for my hitch! GREAT!

It does a great job clamping the hitch to the receiver. Looks clean also being chrome!

by:

It mostly holds the hitch still. I still get a slight amount of up and down movement. I also find I need to tighten it again after driving a bit, though I doubt that is the fault of the clamp. I think I'll add some nuts to lock down the wingnuts just in case they vibrated loose.

by:

Haven't had a chance to install it yet but looking forward to great success! Tried other styles and nothing has really done the job. Will report after our Sept trip.

by:

Works great for quiteting down the clunking and rattling sound from an ill fitting hitch.

by:

Absolutely huge improvement with the chucking and hitch movement. Make sure that you check for tightness during each full stop. Highly recommend.

by:

Quality product as always from B&W…

by:

Initial build looks good. Much better design than my past anti rattle devices that always seemed to come loose. Just installed today so I don't have a on-road reply yet. Leaving tomorrow for a one month road trip bumper towing a 9000# travel trailer. I did switch out the wing nuts for nyla nuts and a second backer nut.

by:

This product is heavy duty and works really well. Shipping was fast from etrailer. Highly recommend.

by:

Great product! Very heavy duty materials. Easy to install. The rattle is gone. After hooking up a trailer check the wing nuts and titen if necessary.

Glad to hear that took care of the rattle, that’s always one of the most satisfying fixes. Sounds like you’ve got it dialed in too with checking those wing nuts after the first hookup, that’s a great tip for keeping everything tight and quiet. What kind of trailer are you usually towing with it?

by:

I own a 2013 Chevrolet 2500 HD with a factory 2 1/2” receiver. This clamp is not compatible. There is no defined ridge on the receiver to hook the clamp bottom onto. I thought I overcame this, but the clamp won’t stay tight and got damaged.

by:

Appears to be a nice product but I am leery on how tight you can get it by hand. Plus the main issue I have is it doesn’t work with a drop hitch. The wing nut fins hit the hitch so you can’t get it tightened up.

by:

This is an excellent product. It does what it's made for and worth every penny! The only problem may be with it is your truck's hitch receiver assembly and the hitch itself. On some pickup trucks and hitches there is not enough space to install it. But, if it fits your truck & hitch - it is highly recommended, as it makes a big difference in towing.
