  • Hitch Extender for Jeep Wrangler With Receiver Mounted Bike Rack
On your Yakima FullSwing 4-bike rack the distance between the end of the receiver and the upright portion of the bike rack is about 8-1/2". (I have attached a picture illustrating this.) You would have to measure the depth of your spare tire to see if it will fit normally. I suspect it will be too close, but if it is, you can use the 8" etrailer # 80307 hitch extender if you have a 2" square receiver opening. If you have a 1-1/4" square receiver opening you can use the 7" Curt # D189...

  • Recommendations for Hitch and Cargo Carrier on 2008 Toyota Corolla S
Starting with a hitch for your 2008 Toyota Corolla S, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11265. It features a bolt on installation and has a max tongue weight of 200 lbs for accessories. Since Class I is the only option available you are pretty limited on your carrier selection. You can choose from one of the following: -17x46 Curt Cargo Carrier for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Steel - 500 lbs # C18145 (Weighs 29 lbs) -19x47 Curt Cargo Carrier for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Steel...

  • Distance from Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver to Rear of Bumper on 2022 Kia Seltos
The center of the hitch pin hole to the rear of the bumper on the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C65FR is 8". If this does not provide you with enough clearance, and your bike rack can also fit a 2" hitch, you may be able to use an extender like the # D189 assuming your bike rack permits the use of an extender. The only problem with this solution would be the reduction of the capacity of the hitch. Use of an extender will reduce the capacity by 50%, so your...

  • Will The Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack Fit 2006 Honda CRV With Spare Tire On Back?
In order to verify if the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack for 1 Bike - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount # KU64FR will fit your 2006 Honda CRV with spare tire, you will need to take a measurement. Measure from the center of the hitch pin hole on your hitch receiver, all the way to the rear-most part of your spare tire to determine how far a bike rack will need to be from your hitch receiver. I attached a photo to show this measurement. The Kuat Transfer has a distance of about 8-5/16" from...

  • Will The Swagman Trailhead Work Well On My 2018 Honda Ridgeline?
The Swagman Trailhead 2 Bike Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting # S63360 will certainly fit your 2018 Honda Ridgeline RTL-T as long as you have either a 1-1/4" or 2" trailer hitch receiver installed. It comes with an anti-rattle hitch pin to reduce wobble, but it does not lock; you can add Swagman 1/2" Locking Anti-Wobble Threaded Hitch Pin # S64029 to lock the carrier to your hitch receiver. The Trailhead bike rack does have a tilt mechanism, but keep in mind it likely will not...

  • Will The Hitch Extender Allow For Thule T2 Pro XTR To Fit Receiver With Less Than 1.5 Inch Receiver
Using the Curt Hitch Extender # D189 will give you 2" from the center of the front hitch pin hole to the end of the receiver tube. This will allow the anti-rattle for the Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack # TH23JV to work properly. Do understand by using the extender it will lower your tongue weight capacity by 50%. It will likely be a better idea to replace your receiver with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C12100 so you will not have to use an adapter.

  • What to do if Your New Bike Rack Doesn't Have Enough Clearance for Your Vehicle
It looks like you ordered the Swagman XC 2-Bike Rack, part # S64650, and it's not clearing your Jeep well. You can always look at exchanging bike racks, but I believe I have a better solution. You can use a hitch extender to give you the clearance that you need. Normally, using a hitch extender is a worry because it will reduce your hitch's tongue weight capacity by 50%. However, in this case, the XC only weighs around 30 pounds and can only support 70 pounds for the bikes, making the...

  • Hitch Extension Increasing Receiver Size from 1-1/4 to 2
If I understand your request, you are saying that your Sprinter has a hitch with a 1-1/4" square receiver, and you would like a part that plugs into the 1/4" receiver on one end and has a 2" receiver opening on the other end. In this case the Brophy # HTAD Hitch Adapter could be a solution. It offers a 7-1/4" extension of your hitch pin holes. We also offer the Brophy # HES6 that offers a 5-3/4" extension and the Curt # D189 that has a 7" extension. If you need an extra hitch pin for...

  • How To Extend A 1 1/4" Hitch On A 2021 Subaru Forester
In order to reduce the risk of your hitch ball coming in contact with the rear bumper on you 2021 Subaru Forester, you first need to take a measurement from the receiver pin hole to the outside of your bumper. This will determine exactly how long of a ball mount you will need, and if you will need a hitch extender or not. I recommend looking into the Curt Towing Starter Kit # C45147. This hitch kit comes with a 2" ball and fits 1- 1/4" receiver. It has a length of 9 3/4" from the center...

  • Ball Mount For My Class 2 1-1/4 Inch Hitch
The Curt Class II Drawbar # C45016 will move the hitch ball away from your plastic bumper. Using this drawbar will move the hitch out 9-3/8 inches which is center of hitch pin hole to center of hitch pin hole. The ball mount has a sturdy steel construction which has a black gloss powder coat finish. The ball mount has a gross towing weight up to 3,500 pounds and a tongue weight up to 350 pounds. • Which Bike Rack Will Clear The Tailgate On A 2008 Honda Element?
The Swagman Chinook Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount # S64683 has a measurement of 12-1/2" from the trailer hitch pin hole to the closest part of the bike rack when folded/tilted down. You can measure from your trailer hitch pin hole to the rearmost part of the tailgate when folded down and if it is less than 12-1/2" you will likely be fine without any interference, but I cannot guarantee it since we haven't tested it on a 2008 Honda Element yet. • How to Secure Bike Rack Carried with 1-1/4 inch Trailer Hitch Extender
A hitch lock such as # e98879 would be a good choice to secure the extender to the vehicle's Class I or II trailer hitch. To secure the bike rack to the extender, you'd use a # THSTL2 Thule locking hitch pin which is compatible with most recently manufactured Thule bike racks. If you'd care to reply with which particular Thule rack you have, I'd be happy to confirm compatibility. I would warn you though that Thule doesn't recommend using a hitch extender for their racks. Using an extender...
