I have other brands of coupler lock, and they have basically a hitch ball that fits into the coupler. This one has more of a post that fits into the coupler which is why it does not fit securely in the coupler.
I will be returning this lock.

We use these for our company trailers. As well as some personal stuff. And we have several. I like that fact that you can select your key number. It's nice for a business to have all locks keyed the same. Much less confusion with the guys in the field.
Just what I was looking for! Perfect fit on our 27 ft 2021 Jayco travel trailer with 4.5 inch wide coupler.
The lock seems extremely robustly made. My trailer has a wide flange around the coupler and the stepped design of the bail fits perfectly. The circular keyway is secure and the casting is smooth. The teeth on both sides of the bail provide more secure latching than my one-sided prior lock. The main lock piece is smooth on the bottom preventing someone from hooking under the lock and just towing the trailer away. My prior lock had a lip that allowed the trailer to be moved with a tow hook.
My only complaint is that it came with two very sharp, very pointy metal pins sticking out of the bail, maybe to secure it in the package. I had to get a pair of pliers to remove these before they ripped my hands up.
I really like this product, I do wish it would get a little bit tighter not allowing so much wiggle room at the top above the coupler level. But, it seems to be solid and serves the intended purpose.

Works great. This is my second one. Keyed alike for both of my trailers.
Fits my trailer and ordered one with same key as the one on my other trailer which is very handy. I suppose, with enough effort, this lock could be defeated but it presents a good reason to just move on to an unprotected trailer.
I bought several of these, keyed alike and have found them useful. The keyed alike feature is a winner. One key on every set of vehicle keys and I can access any of the rigs at will. The product itself can be a bit tricky to align, and on a steel hitch it will take some of the paint off eventually. Better than getting stolen I'd say. I've used it on 2 inch, 2&5/16 50mm and 1&7/8 couplers. The best fit is on the hitch I show a picture of, though in this case the lock is probably worth more than the trailer. . .

The ball lock I purchased from etrailer.com is the perfect tool for the job. It has several locking positions for different height tongue assemblies and one which was perfect for mine. The lock is smaller than the one I replaced, rendering it much less obtrusive. The chrome coloring also helps it blend better with the hitch, so if you use it while camping your trailer has a “friendlier” appearance to fellow campers. I really like the fact it came with 4 keys and case hardening makes it even safer and lighter than my old lock. Best of all, however, was the superb customer service I received from etrailer.com. Before, during, and yes, even after I received my lock they followed up to make sure I was happy. 5 star service. Would definitely recommend them to my trailering friends.
good product. Been using these for years. We have 12 bumper pull style trailers and use these tongue locks when they are on job sites. It's nice from e trailer because we can get the locks keyed the same. It was miserable having a bunch of different keys.
I've had it on the whole time so I can't say it will come off but has worked fine since I received it.
This coupler is very heavy duty and hopefully will deter any thieves.

I just received this lock and have used it only once on a small, folding-type trailer. But, from everything that I can see, it looks to be very well made. The key/lock assembly appears to work well and I can’t imagine that it would be easy to defeat.
We have a larger, heavier trailer that we have yet to use it on. If my experience changes, I will update my review.
