Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer. Today we're gonna take a look at the Blue Ox dual-purpose trailer coupler lock for 1 7/8 inch, 2 inch, and 2 5/16 inch couplers. Now, this coupler lock here is gonna secure your trailer couplers to help prevent tow away theft and unauthorized hookups. As we mentioned, it'll fit 1 7/8 inch size balls, 2 inch size, and 2 5/16 diameter couplers. It is a universal fit, so it does work for multiple coupler types.

To install, it does come with the two keys. So what you'll do is open the lock on your key up there with the lock, and you only turn it a quarter of a turn. And just like that, the key will stay in there, and you'll notice when you turn it, it'll release the U-bolt right here. And then what you'll do is put this up into the coupler so nobody could hook up to it. And actually you can take your key out, rotate it, take the key out, and you can actually put this on up in the coupler, put this over the top of the coupler.

And as you push down, you can just see, you push down as far as you need to all the way, and it'll lock in place. There's no key needed to lock it. And you're all hooked up, ready to go, keep anybody from hooking up to it. Now, it does have a dual-purpose design. So basically if we go ahead and unlock it again, take that out.

And the dual-purpose design is you can use it as the coupler lock as we mentioned, but you could also remove this top portion what goes into the coupler, and then just use it as a integrated U-lock. So again, take your key out, and then you could put this around cables, you could put it around anything you need. And the same way, just push it into place just like that, and you're all ready to go. So with the ball removed, you can use it as a wheel lock on smaller size wheels or with chains or cables. It is a nice solid die cast body construction.

It uses a dual half inch diameter hardened steel hex shackle construction, and it is a dual-lock system. So you can see it'll lock over here and over here for maximum cut resistance. So again, just to demonstrate, we'll go ahead and turn it to unlock it. We'll go ahead and use it as a coupler lock. You can see it has the pins, it'll drop into the holes. And then go ahead and take your key out, put the lock in and you're all ready to go. Simple as that. Very easy to install, very easy to remove.
