Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this LED boat navigation light. Now, this red LED navigation light is designed to mount on the port or left-hand side of your boat, making it easier for other boaters to see your position and direction of travel after dark. This is going to shine a bright red light that's gonna be visible for up to two nautical miles. That's gonna help reduce the risk of collisions while keeping your boat compliant with the US Coast Guard and ABYC navigation light requirements. This light is built to handle harsh marine conditions.
Its sealed, IP68-rated waterproof housing is gonna keep water and dust out, while the UV-resistant lens is gonna help prevent fading or cracking from prolonged sun exposure. Inside, the military-grade circuit board is protected with urethane potting, which is gonna provide better resistance to moisture, vibration, and impact than traditional epoxy potting. A rust-proof stainless steel cover is gonna give the light a clean finish appearance while adding durability. And this uses a premium red LED behind a clear lens. That's going to give you excellent visibility with very little power draw.
Now, as you know, LEDs are highly resistant to vibration and are rated to last up to 100,000 hours, so you're not gonna have to worry about frequent bulb replacements. Installations are gonna be pretty straightforward. This light is designed for surface mounting on the port side of your boat, and it includes this gasket that's going to create a weather-tight seal while protecting your boat's finish. It's gonna hardwire into any 9-volt to 14-volt DC electrical system, making this compatible with standard 12-volt marine applications. The wire lead on this, let me get my ruler here real quick.
Speaking of measurements, if you want exacting measurements of this light, I would recommend taking a look at this product page. We do have a diagram there to kind of give you an idea of what to expect regarding the measurements of this light. The cover can be little difficult to remove. Our recommendation is to remove the cover right before you are ready to install the light. You can use a straight slot screwdriver and looking in the back of the light underneath, gently pry the bottom of the light away from the cover. You will need to be patient. Once it is undone then the cover will be able to be popped off, allowing the light to be installed. Once installed just take the cover and begin to attach it to the front and then push firmly down along the sides and back. You can also watch the video at mark 1:50 as well.
