Features to know about

Keeps Every Trailer Level: Adjustable 10" Drop and 11" Rise

Different trailers rarely line up at the same height. This adjustable ball mount makes it easy to level them out. The solid 6061 T6 billet aluminum shank slides into your 3" x 3" receiver and lets you fine-tune your setup in 1" increments. With a full 10" drop or 11" rise, you can dial in the perfect height every time for smoother, more stable towing.

Handles Heavy Loads with Confidence: 21,000 lbs GTW Capacity

Towing bigger rigs demands real strength. The Weigh Safe 180 Hitch is built for it—rated at 21,000 lbs GTW with the 2-5/16" ball and 8,000 lbs with the 2" ball, plus a maximum tongue weight of 2,200 lbs. The solid block aluminum construction keeps it lightweight without sacrificing pull power, giving you peace of mind when hauling serious weight.

Switch Trailers Fast: Dual Hitch Balls That Flip in Seconds

If you’re swapping between trailers often, this design saves time. The double-sided ball platform carries both a chrome-plated 2" and a 2-5/16" ball on one piece. To change sizes, just pull the dual pins, flip the platform, and reinsert—it’s that simple. No loose parts to misplace and no tools required, so switching from one trailer to another stays quick and clean.

Built to Last: Aluminum Shank with Chrome-Plated Steel Balls

Towing gear takes abuse from weather and road grime, but this setup is made to endure it. The aluminum shank resists corrosion while keeping weight down, and the chrome-plated steel balls stay smooth and rust-free through season after season of towing. It’s a solid hitch that keeps performing long after lesser mounts start showing wear.

Stays Secure in Place: Dual Pin Locking System

Once your height is set, the included dual pins keep everything locked tight. The design keeps the platform steady with no wobble or rattle while towing. You can hook up knowing every connection point—from the shank to the hitch balls—is held firmly for a predictable, quiet ride mile after mile.

Video Transcript for Review of Weigh Safe 180 Hitch 3 inch Shank Chrome Balls - WS24MR

Hello, neighbors. Steve here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at the Weigh Safe 180 hitch two ball combo mount for your three inch shank hitches. It's rated at 21,000 pounds, it has nice shiny chrome balls, and it has a max drop of 10 inches with a max rise of 11 inches. Now the 2 5/16 inch ball is rated at 21,000 pounds capacity, while the two inch ball is rated at 8,000 pounds capacity. So again, you could simply flip this over, have it in the rise position as needed, or the drop, whatever you prefer.

Now the good thing with adjustable ball mounts is that you can adjust the height to tow different heights on the same vehicle, but different height trailers, and the two different ball sizes allows you to tow multiple trailers with different coupler sizes on them as well. Now some quick dimensions from the center of the ball back to the center of this first pin is 8 1/2 inches. And back to the second pin, center to center is 9 5/8 inches. From the back of the shank to the closest center of that pin is 1 7/8 inches, and it's three inches from the back of the shank to the center of that other pin hole. Now these hitch pin holes are 5/8 inch thick.

There is no hitch pin or lock included for this part. You would need to purchase that separately if you don't already have one. But you do get a nice rubberized cover here on this lockable pin, it's a two-pronged pin. You get two pairs of tube keys. You simply unlock that.

Let's say I wanna switch from the 2 5/16 ball and I wanna tow a trailer that has a two inch coupler. Well, I just simply unlock, pull the pin out, take the head assembly off, rotate it that 180 degrees, place it back on, now my pin lock is on the other side and I just simply line up the holes, lock it back in place, and just like that, 10, 15 seconds later, I'm now ready to tow a two-inch coupler trailer. So again folks, everything here on the main shank is aluminum construction solid from one piece, and the head assembly here minus the ball, is all solid aluminum. So that's a 6061-T6 billet aluminum shank and mounting platform. Super lightweight but super strong, and the balls are hardened steel with a nice chrome plating over them.

So what's that mean Well, everything here is rust-proof, corrosion-resistant. You're not gonna worry about it tarnishing over time or anything like that. So very elegant design from Weigh Safe. I'm pretty impressed with it. We do carry these in different shank sizes and heights as well. So if you need something a little different, just check out those other products here at etrailer.com as well. Well folks, that will wrap it up for our quick look today at the Weigh Safe 180. I'm Steven. Thanks for watching.

The weigh safe hitch. Quality made very nice hitch.

Built like a brick....uh, doghouse! This ball mount is solid!
I bought this to go with our new Ford SD for pulling a low rider motorcycle trailer which has 4" drop axles. The old one was no where near the drop needed. As you can see in the photo, even this one was almost too short. It is just right at the lowest setting.
The only reason I gave 4/5 stars is the safety clips are horizontal to the ground. Being an OCD mechanical engineer, I would prefer them to be perpendicular to reduce the chance of brush and road debris pulling them out.

by:

Simple and easy to switch to another trailer with a different ball size and height. Only negative thing I can say is I would prefer a little tighter fit into the receiver.

by:

Much lighter than my bulletproof just what I need when pulling my utility trailer.

by:

This mount is an amazing piece of engineering. My father was a machinist and I know he would be impressed. It functions flawlessly with all of my various trailers, and even looks great on my truck. The order was processed and shipped super fast, arriving within a few days. Great job and hats off to etrailer.com !!!

by:

Arrived quickly and in perfect shape. Very robust hitch and fits perfectly. Highly recommend this hitch.

by:

PERFECT. EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED.

by:

Makes a little more noise (rattle) than my all steel non adjustable hitch

by:

Great hitch. Easily adjustable

by:

High quality. Website videos helped with selection decision. Decent price. Fast shipping

by:

Easy to install sturdy towing platform. Like that ths ball mount can be stowed out of the way.

by:

Work horse and light weight. Comes with key locks keyed alike for hitch and ball. Stainless steel ball ensures durability for towing long term.

by:

The 180 Weigh Safe is an excellent adjustable hitch. Exceptional fit and finish.

by:

Been looking for a while on a new hitch and finally pulled the trigger. Etrailer made it fast and easy to get the hitch I wanted at a fair price.

by:

After 3 months one of the trailer chains bonds against the hitch while taking a shape turn and bent the key to flip the receiver ball. So we are basically stuck with a 2 5/16 receiver since it cannot be opened and flipped. Aluminum is nice but weak at the same time.

by:

Fast shipping as always! While I haven't had the chance to use this hitch yet, it looks like a high-quality product straight out of the box. I plan to test it this weekend and will update this review if I remember after putting it to use.

by:

Very solid and beautifully finished. Fits well on my 2016 Ram 2500 4x4, with the newer 2-1/2" receiver, allowing the exact height necessary to level my toy hauler. Ball mount is packaged in foam to ensure it is pristine when it arrives.
Got the locking dual pin for it, as well as the BOLT locks for hitch and coupler, so none of this pretty stuff walks away. Very happy with the whole setup.
A little mixup on the initial order was corrected immediately, so I had all the parts I needed in time to hit the road. Thanks etrailer team!

by:

Would say WOW ! Excellent communication from the second order was placed , tracking from start to finish. Super packing job and way quick delivery . Product is great , heavy built and easy to change based on what trailer I need to use . Wish I had bought one years ago !

by:

worked just fine. easy to adjust. will work for both trailers of different hitch height

by:

Hitch works well. Seems it could be a bit tighter when in receiver on truck but overall is a good purchase.

by:

Good product feels very sturdy. My only critique is that it has too much play causing a lot of rattling. The manufacturer should have a tightening bolt so that after installation the two components tighten up and there’s no play.

by:

Great price outstanding quality and had it to my front door in less than 48 hours!

by:

This is a solid hitch, the double pin on the ball side locks everything in tight no rattling and love the locking mechanism on this unit… Price is excellent and delivery time wasn’t that long… Great job to you guys at etrailer

by:

Great product. Craftsmanship is top notch.
Easy to use and very sturdy built. My only complaint is the standard coated Balls rusted pretty quickly and look bad. I Should have went with the upgraded stainless steel. Also the salt from 1 winter has left some corrosion on the aluminum of the hitch and the sticker fell off. None of these things affect the function, but i wish it would have stayed looking as nice as it did when it was new.

by:

Well made and exactly what I wanted
