Remember when gauging your trailer's tongue weight was such a hassle? It often involved wrestling with bathroom scales, which were far from accurate, or making a trip to the weigh station, which took time and effort. Or you had to buy a separate scale. With a Weigh Safe Hitch, it's super-simple. Just hook up your trailer to the ball mount like you would with any other hitch. The moment you connect, the weight of your trailer pushes down on the hitch ball, automatically giving you a measurement on the easy-to-read gauge. It's quick, hassle-free, and takes the guesswork out of towing. Now you can focus on the road ahead instead of worrying about whether your load is balanced.
The Weigh Safe Hitch can be used in either the drop or rise position to best suit your needs.

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this Weigh Safe built-in scale hitch with two stainless steel balls, and this is designed for your two-inch hitch receiver. Now, this ball mount is going to slide into your two-inch hitch receiver and it's going to give you a 2 5/16 inch and a two-inch, both stainless steel balls. And this is also going to give you a maximum drop in this orientation of 10 inches. And then when you flip this shank over, you'll get a maximum rise of 11 inches and this has incremental adjustment of one inch. So this is going to give you that height adjustability that you're looking for so you can tow trailers of different heights with the same vehicle.
Now, when you use the 2 5/16 inch hitch ball, you're going to get a gross towing weight of 12,500 pounds. Using the two-inch ball, it's 8,000 pounds. This has a maximum tongue weight of 1,500 pounds. And this does feature a tongue weight scale that's built into the ball mount platform that's gonna help you balance your trailer for safer towing. This scale is going to let you know if your load needs to be adjusted before you tow.
It's very simple to use. This is going to automatically provide a measurement every time you couple your trailer. So this is efficient and hassle-free. This is going to eliminate the need for separate or commercial scales. This also features a dual pin slider lock.
This is going to make adjusting the height very simple. And I just took off this rubber cover here that's going to protect that keyway. But let me go ahead and show you how easy this is going to be to operate. So I'm gonna insert the key here, give it a turn, and then that's going to unlock it and allow me to remove this. So this dual pin slider, the pins here are aluminium along with the housing.
And then our lock here is plated steel. So this is very rugged and it's gonna hold up really well against corrosion. And so now this is unlocked, this is going to be able to be freely moved up and down so you can get that adjustment that you're looking for. And then I'm gonna go ahead and remove this real quick. And I just want to show you while I have this off, how easy it's going to be to swap out the ball. So I've got my two-inch ball here and if I wanna swap this out for the 2 5/16 inch ball, I can either tip this over and that pin's gonna slide right out, or if it's not coming right out, you can just pull on this key ring here. So I'm gonna take that pin out, remove the two-inch ball and then insert the 2 5/16 inch ball. I'm gonna line up the holes here and then just gonna run that pin through, finding the hole here, there we go. So my pin is inserted. I wanna make sure the ring is flush. I'm gonna bring my shank back in here and then I'm just gonna be able to slide that back on, just like that. Also, I did want to point out that when you are not towing, this also can be stowed. So you can mount the ball underneath your trailer hitch receiver like this. You'll just replace the dual pin there and then that'll secure it in place. So that's gonna be great because when you're walking behind your truck, you're not gonna have to worry about accidentally banging your shin up against the ball there. So that's a great feature that this includes. And now, I'm just gonna go ahead and replace the dual pins here and I hope you can see just how easy this is to operate. Everything works very smoothly, so you're not gonna be at the back of your vehicle, struggling to get that height adjustment that you're looking for or to swap out the balls. Everything's gonna be very easy to use. Now, this hitch is constructed of aircraft-grade aluminium, giving you superior strength and durability. The solid block construction's gonna give you greater strength than a lot of hollow steel options that are out there. But this is going to maintain a lightweight, but it's gonna be very durable, it's gonna hold up really well for you, and it's gonna be rust-proof for this clean finish that's going to stand the test of time. Now, I mentioned that this also has a locking hitch pin and I wanted to point out that you are going to get four keys. Everything is key to like, so the idea is you can use one key for the dual locking pin or for the hitch lock. So let me just give you a brief demonstration of this. I'm gonna take the key, insert it into the lock, give it a twist, and then that's going to allow me to unlock this. This is a very durable hitch pin lock. I also wanted to point out that when I lock this back up and remove the key, I can still lock this. So what's nice about this is, you don't need the key inserted into the lock to lock this back up. So let me just give you a brief demonstration of that. I don't know if I mentioned you do have a cap here. Obviously, that's gonna protect that keyway from dirt, debris, and things like that. So locking this back up, and you can see it's locked back into place. So I really like that you don't need the key. But again, four keys, they're all key to like. Let me give you some measurements here. Measuring from the center of our first hitch pin hole to the center of the ball, we're sitting at about 8.5 inches. Moving over to the second hitch pin hole from center to center, 9 5/8 inches. And then from the center of the hitch pin, the second hitch pin hole to the end of the shank, about 1 7/8 inches. This is V5 and J684 certified. And I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
