Hey Eric. I guess you could say the installation process is different on a 2017 Mini cooper S convertible. The EcoHitch item # EH87FR you were looking at only fits the hardtop models. For your convertible you'll need the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver item # EH77FR. I do not have an installation video for it.
Please note that the item # EH77FR hitch only fits models with center-mounted dual exhaust.
