Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

The hidden hitch and wiring harness looks to be of high quality. Hitch looks great on our 2013 Ford Edge.
I sold my truck so any trailer pulling will now be done by the Edge. I only pull a light trailer with a garden tractor etc.

2007 Ford Edge

Fit PERFECT, bolts need a trimI just finished installing the unit on our 2007 Edge.
All the parts were there, but on my ford access to the rear frame openings were plugged, so i fished the bolts n from the outer side frames rails. The bolts included needed a tweak to shave one side of the head flange down so it would fit through the access hole.
Total time as 1 hr and 20 minutes. It was 20F outside so worked slow
I could have enlarged the frame hole, but it only took a minute to grind off a 1/8" off one side of the bolt.

The product is excellent and the installation videos on their website took all of the guesswork out of it for this "do it yourself-er". Ordering from etrailer.com could not have been easier. They shipped it out the very same day of my online order. I am very satisfied with every aspect of my purchase.

This is a great hitch. Mounting it to my Ford Edge was pretty straight forward and only took about an hour. I would recommend this hitch to anyone.

by:

I ordered the hidden hitch on Friday night ,and received it on the following wed. The on line video was really helpful. I knew exactly what to do when it arrived. It only took a few hours for me to install. I plan on using it for a utility trailer. It really looked great when installed. Dealing with etrailer was a great experience. Thank you.

2007 Ford Edge

A nice productI installed this by myself. I used a floor jack to hold it in place (a bit challenging).
I put it on a 2007 Ford Edge in order to use a bike rack carrier.

by:

Was very easy to install! Was pleased with my whole experience from ordering to delivery! The video demo was exactly the way you have to install the hitch! This was my 1st time installing a hitch and was very simple and straight forward. Very happy!

by:

  • What is the Shape of the Crosstube on a Draw-Tite Hitch for a 2023 Kia Telluride?
Hey Tim! The Draw-Tite Hitch item # 75992 has a rectangular cross tube but it does not fit a 2023 Kia Telluride. This hitch fits the following vehicles: 2007 - 2008 Ford Edge 2009 - 2014 Ford Edge excluding Sport 2007 - 2015 Lincoln MKX For a Draw-Tite hitch that fits the 2023 Telluride you'll want item # DT32RR. This hitch also has a rectangular crosstube but also incorporates a round portion that goes over the exhaust. I attached a picture below so you can get a better look at it. ...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation On A 2011 Ford Edge SEL
We have two Class III hitch receivers available for your 2011 Ford Edge SEL, Curt part # C13067 and Draw-Tite part # 75992. In order to tow a trailer with 2 jet skis, you will need the weight capacity a Class III hitch offers. I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver as this hitch will not be as visible from above in comparison to the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver. The Draw-Tite Class III hitch is rated for 4000 lbs. of gross trailer weight (GTW) and 400 lbs. of tongue...

  • Do All Trailer Hitches For 2014 Ford Edge SEL Require Drilling
I can understand not wanting to drill holes to mount a hitch, though the Draw-Tite # 75728 is only a fit the Sport model and will be unable to fit your 2014 Ford Edge SEL. I did double check with the manufacturer for you just to be certain. So to add a hitch to your '14 Edge SEL you will need to drill 17/32" holes in your frame rails for installation. Drilling to install a hitch is something that is pretty frequent and a lot of people do, even in areas there is bad weather, and you can...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2013 Ford Edge
You will need a new for your 2013 Ford Edge as there isn't a way to install a hitch from an older Escape on it. The vehicles are quite a bit different. For that you would want the Draw Tite # 75992 which is a confirmed fit and would work great. It's a 2 inch hitch with plenty of capacity plus a concealed cross tube.

  • Class III Hitch For 2008 Ford Edge To Tow A Trailer With Weight Distribution
I recommend to switch the existing hitch to the Draw-Tite instead of using an adapter because adapters cannot be used with weight distribution and they cut the tongue weight rating of the hitch in half. The only Class III hitch available for the 2008 Ford Edge that is designed for the use of a weight distribution system is Draw-Tite hitch part # 75992. The Draw-Tite hitch allows for up to 400 lbs tongue weight but the Ford Edge can still only tow up to 350 lbs of tongue weight according...

The Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 75992 is a great option for your 2011 Ford Edge though in terms of a wiring harness, there isn't a harness that is an external plug-in or that can be mounted externally unless you do your own modification and find a way to route the harness underneath your Edge. As you can see by the accompanying cut out of the reviews I added we did have one customer run the 4-way through the grommet on the left side of the spare tire in a '11 Edge. • Complete Towing Setup For 2010 Ford Edge
Dry weight is the weight of your vehicle when completely empty with no passengers or cargo loaded. The gross trailer weight is total weight of the trailer plus the cargo loaded on it. The main two things you need to look at are your vehicle's max towing capacity and the trailer's gross weight. My research tells me that your 2010 Ford Edge has a max towing capacity of 2,000lbs, but you can verify in your owner's manual. This means you should not pull a trailer that exceeds 2,000lbs. If...

We have a kit set up just for this situation, the part number is # ETBC7L. The kit includes an adapter to convert the existing 4-pin to a 7-way. The adapter will have 4 additional wires. • What Is the Difference Between the Curt Hitch and the Draw-Tite Hitch on a 2010 Ford Edge
Both the Curt Hitch # C13067 and the Draw-Tite Hitch # 75992 are custom fit hitches that are designed to be mounted on to your 2010 Ford Edge. Both hitches are Class III rated and have the 2 inch opening at the hitch. Both the Curt and Draw-Tite Hitches have a gross trailer weight rating of 4,000 lbs and a maximum tongue weight of 400 lbs. Both the Curt and Draw-Tite Hitch have limited life lifetime warranties. Of these two, I recommend the Draw-Tite hitch over the Curt for two reasons....

For your 2014 Ford Edge we have two Draw Tite hitches that have a 2 inch opening like the part # 75992 that you referenced. The # 75992 is the correct hitch if your Edge is not a Sport model. If instead you do have a Sport model you'd want the # 75728. I do have a trailer hitch that fits the sport model. It does require some trimming but not any extra trimming other than what is specified in the instructions. The Thule Passage 2 Bike Carrier # TH910XT will be able to transport your bikes safely, but over time there very well could be some damage to your spoiler. This is actually a common footnote for trunk mount racks and is why the manufacturers recommend taking the rack off when not in use. • Trailer Hitch & Wiring for 2014 Ford Edge
Both Draw-Tite and Curt hitches are good quality products. While one given hitch fit may favor one brand over the other in total they both offer excellent products. Curt hitches can sometimes have a nicer powder coat finish, and since they are made in the USA they do offer that appeal.
