Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.
Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.
In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Well built. Very tight fit on my ‘17 2500 Silverado. Getting the hitch into the proper position was more of a challenge than I expected. It took two people to install it. One to apply leverage and the second to install the bolts once the holes lined up. Minor cutting on the metal support for the bottom edge of the front end. I’m sure I could have avoided the cutting if I could have figured out how to disassemble the bumper. We got it all done in a few hours.
The packaging could be better. The were holes in the box where the hitch broke through but all the parts were present and it’s kind of hard to damage this receiver.
The only reason I didn’t rate five stars is that I couldn’t install it alone and the receiver does appear to be fabricated about 1/4” off center. Both of these I consider to be minor problems but problems nonetheless.
Knowing everything I know now after getting the install completed, I would purchase this item again. I would also recommend this receiver to anyone looking for a front hitch for a ‘17 2500 Silverado.
Item was out of stock still received it within a week or so. Watched the video for installation. Part had some tight tolerances. I used a big dead blow hammer to line all the holes up. It took me about 4 hours by myself and laying on the ground. Would have gone much quicker with a lift and another set of hands. I am very pleased with this hitch.
This is much harder to install on a 2015 GMC 2500 than described in the videos. You will need to cut the metal bumper behind the plastic facia as well and it's tricky to do cleanly. The hole they have you cut for the hitch is also much larger than it needs to be to fit by over an inch. It makes the install look sloppy.
Why don't they don't have a template for the license plate bracket I don't know they are all the same and would make that process go much more smoothly and they could be more accurate in the hole you cut
The metal plates for the carriage bolts didn't fit and I had to file the insides to get the bolts to seat
Finally the holes for the stock bolts didn't perfectly align properly and I had to widen the bottoms slots a bit to get it to fit.
The install took a out 90 minutes in a fully outfitted shop. For an average consumer this would be a difficult install.
While this seems fine once installed the hardware, precision of the build itself and install documentation/process leaves allot to be desired.
I would recommend spending a few more dollars on a better version of this unless your adept with tools and fab work.
When you match up the bottom holes through the trailer hitch receiver with the holes on the bottom of the truck frame, the top hole where the long bolt goes through the frame and tow hook isn't even close to lining up and there isn't enough metal to drill a larger hole in the receiver hitch. I wound up having to cut out a slot on each side of the hitch so I could get the long bolts through the frame and tow hooks. This certainly weakened the weight capacity of the hitch. The Draw-Tite people need to pay more attention to accuracy.
Quality hitch and the excellent service all the way around I'm used to getting from etrailer over the years. Installed on my 2016 Sierra Denali 2500HD, note instructions say on first line down that it does not fit the Denali trim due to extensive fascia cutting required; actually it was quite simple with the aid of a 4-1/2" cutoff disk and a sawzall. Installation is much easier with two people. See attached pics for actual material removed, note the lower fascia need not be cut for the hitch to fit through the hole. Maybe more work to install than the Curt hitch, but well worth the additional ground clearance.
Excellent well built receiver. The instructions however are a little misleading. The instructions refer to “Trimming the Facia” which sounds like a simple procedure when you actually must saw a square hole in the steel bumper. It takes some effort and know how. I wouldn’t attempt to install it if I didn’t have the proper tools and the ability to make things fit that don’t want to fit. Ask if I’d do it again? Most definitely.

Just fine
Great product. Delivered on time. Easy to install. Bolts and bolt holes matched up perfectly on my 2015 GMC 2500. Cutting the hole in the front bumper was the only difficult task. After the hole was cut everything else went perfectly.
Got the front mount hitch 65078 on time. Installed the next day. Installed in less that 2 hours on my 2013 GMC Sierra 2500. Was a perfect but very close/tight fit. Some bolts were a challenge to get in but all went in without any modifications.

Installed relatively easily but ended up selling the truck before I used it.
It fits perfectly. It extends far enough out to make it easy to slide in the hitch pin without crawling under the truck. It was exactly as described on your website. Great accurate review

It works perfectly and I am very satisfied with it. Thanks for assisting me with this.
The instructions were easy to follow and installed quickly. There was a fitment issue. I had to remove two of the valance screws to get it to bolt up on my Gmc. There were also several spots that the paint/powdercoat was flaking off. Seems sturdy and should work well for my application.
Very fast shipping, hitch needed to be packed better ,paint rubbed off in Conners, but good service, product fit great, thankyou
Excellent product. Installed on a 2019 GMC HD3500 Denali. Required some cutting of the plastic and the sheet metal immediately behind the stock license plate location but the hitch fit very well and looks quite nice when completed. Requires some bending of top and bottom edges of the sheet metal in order to fit it through the 3.5" opening. Installs at a much more useable height than the Curt version. Used the Curt C31002 license plate holder and drilled an additional hole for the pin position so that the license plate does not stick out so far.
etrailer very informative ,product - hitch as described ..install was easy ,took me a little longer as i was on my back ,i am 65 years old and went in per their instructions..i am satisfied ,i would recommend this 65078 hitch from etrailer ... 2019 3500HD LTZ Silverado is what i installed it on.
Fit perfect on my 2017 GMC Denali 2500HD Duramax! Very minor trimming of the sheet metal behind the license plate. I cut the front plastic first, based on the directions using a dremel tool. Once i did that, it gave me access to the sheet metal behind to cut out. One that was done, the receiver fit in place and bolted down with out a hitch! No pun intended :)
Ordered front receiver from etrailer and received producy very quickly . I will be using receiver for surf fishing rack.
I would recommend having a helper for installation.
This receiver from drawtite # 65078 fit my 2019 Silverado 2500 perfectly
The instructions were solid, but your installation video helped tremendously. Only challenge was measuring for the cutout, which is done on the less angled license plate holder, but still difficult to get accurate measurements. In your video where you point out that the cutout may not be enough on the top was true for me also as I had to remove an additional 1/8" in order for the bolts to align properly for re-installing. Also, using a 3/8" bit works on the less angled top holes, but probably should be a smaller long bit (1/8") on the bottom two holes and then enlarged because the larger bit wants to dance all over the angled surface that must be cut out ... no matter how level you try to keep the drill. I purchased the Draw-site to more easily allow carrying our bikes while towing our Airstream, which is not suited well for rear bike carriers.
The hitch was easy to install. The only issue is who ever welded it put the front ring on and it's turned to one side. It functions fine but bothers my OCD.
Great product! Front hitch receiver is built and coated well. Installation took about an hour. Instructions were spot on. I will be using it to haul 2 electric bikes while I pull our 5th wheel camper.
Nice fit through the valence instead of being too low like the under valence models
Package arrived within the estimated timeframe and installed it the same day. Haven't used it yet but I will be putting a large hitch carrier on it and it'll have around 100+lbs on it all the time, I'm sure it'll be fine.
I installed it on my 2012 Silverado 3500 and it was a very very tight fit. After pounding on it with a hammer and losing and tightening each side to pull it one way and adjust it, was finally able to get all the bolts in. An additional 1/16" would have been nice to have as the bolts that hold down the backside of the tow hooks weren't making it as I couldn't get the holes to align for a while, but I did eventually get it.
It sure isn't going anywhere.
Delivery was excellent and no damage. Item was well built. Can’t say it was as easy to put on as the video showed but we got it together and it looks very nice. We made a few adjustments and reattached the front license plate (photo). Has cleaner look. Added some special touches (photo). etrailer rocks again.
Tight going in, but it went fit perfect once I got it in

Good
Hitch fit perfectly, cut hole with a 4” hole saw, looks great. Looking forward to years of good use.
Just finished install, by myself. Actual install about 15 min. after finding my tools etc... Fit and installation was a breeze, only shed a few drops of blood when the guide wires for feeding the interior bolts came off and poked my fingers. This is actually a record for me, I usually injure myself anytime I do anything!
Used to haul kayaks when towing fifth wheel, I had same set up on a older truck it works good. I have hauled this way thousands of miles it works very well.

One year later review: no changes to my original review, this hitch is rock solid! Have used it several times now to mount my Honda Grom while pulling the trailer while RVing off the back - very nice, quality product - O
