Will Draw-Tite Front Hitch # 65078 Fit 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Diesel

Question:

I dont see anywhere it says specifically this hitch will fit my diesel truck. And i dont see any photos just like my 2500HD Chevy with the receiver behind the original license plate location. I want to be able to relocate my 7400 lb travel trailer on the pad around the corner of my garage - its all relatively flat concrete. Tongue weight is 500. It appears that most users dont move trailers, just winches, etc. Will this Drawtite work in my situation?

The Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch # 65078 is confirmed to fit your 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500HD with the diesel engine. We have verified this with the manufacturer.

As you mentioned in your question, the 2" receiver will protrude through the truck's lower fascia so it maintains your existing ground clearance dimension. You can certainly use the hitch to maneuver a trailer around the garage like you described. This is a fairly common application even though winch mounts or snow plows might be more visible when looking around for front hitches. With that being said the hitch does have a 500 pound vertical load limit (which would apply to the tongue weight of the trailer) and a 5,000 pound gross trailer weight capacity.

The tongue weight on your trailer looks to be at the hitch's limits but the total 7,400 pound weight you mentioned would exceed its capacity. We do not have a higher-rated front hitch available for this truck.
