Features to know about

Bring More Gear and Fun Along: 2" Class III Receiver with 7,000 lbs Capacity

This hitch is built for real use—not just occasional towing. The 2" x 2" receiver opening works with a huge range of accessories like bike racks, cargo carriers, and ball mounts. With a maximum gross trailer weight of 7,000 lbs and 700 lbs tongue weight, it’s ready to pull mid-sized trailers or small boats. You can load up for work or weekends without worrying about strength or stability.

Install It Yourself Without the Hassle: Bolt-On, No-Weld Setup

There’s no need for welding or special tools—everything you need comes in the box. The bolt-on design lines up with existing mounting points for a straightforward install right in your garage or driveway. It’s built for folks who like doing their own projects and want to get the job done quickly and confidently.

Keep It Looking Sharp: Concealed Main Body and Rust-Resistant Finish

You don’t have to give up looks for function. The main body stays tucked behind the bumper so only the receiver shows, giving your vehicle a clean, factory-style appearance. The dual-layer finish combines a protective base with a durable powder coat that fights off rust, chips, and road grime through all seasons.

Spend Less Time Cleaning: Open-Back Receiver Design

An open-back receiver helps keep things simple when it’s time to clean up. Dirt and debris don’t collect inside the hitch tube, so you can easily rinse it out and keep it working smoothly trip after trip. This small detail makes a big difference in long-term reliability and ease of use.

I’m happy

by:

Package was damaged.
Very complicated
to install and poor instructions.

by:

Had to buy $70 in additional hardware, none of the bolt holes lined up, directions went in the trash. Hitch is 1/8 to narrow. Spent at least 4 hours fabricating. This is why I don't buy anything online, you just reinforced that online purchases don't work out!

I’m very sorry to hear this, Dalton. I wish you had reached out to us during the installation. The hitches are made from flexed steel, and sometimes they don’t line up perfectly right out of the box. Using something sturdy for leverage, like a dumpster or similar, can help bring it back to the correct alignment. They’re designed with flexed steel to prevent any damage to your vehicle’s frame. I completely understand that when we buy something, we expect it to bolt right up, but with hitches that’s not always the case. If you ever have an issue with anything you purchase from us, it only takes one phone call, we have real people here in Wentzville, MO ready to help. Again, my apologies that your install didn’t go more smoothly.

Great service!!

I understand that it's only a hitch , but this arrived in a damaged box and full of scratches and gouging down to bare metal. Don't know if was shipped in that condition or if carrier did it , but not liking it.

by:

It went on well and is working well. Th anks!

by:

I had to wait 6 months to receive it and it was almost impossible to put on it took two people 4 hours to install

by:

Great fast service

by:

Super Happy, when the products take me one hour to install

by:

Looks great. Easy installation. Timely delivery.

by:

It was more difficult to install than I anticipated. Need a lift to facilitate the installation so I took it to my local garage and they did it.

by:

The tow bar does not fit in the space that well, looks out of place but very happy to have an option for trucks that did not come with hitch from factory.

by:

This Curt Trailer hitch is very strong built very easy to get it installed because it is the exact fit. I recommend etrailer to anyone for your needs. Thanks Austin I enjoyed doing business with you.

by:

Pro: Great price and shipping. Bolt fish wires are required and included. Under 2 hours to install.
Con: Terrible installation instructions! Instructions are usually not necessary for a hitch install but the bolts are very difficult to get into the frame tube. The 2 small pictures are barley visible and do not show how to fish the bolts into the frame tube.
Would be 5 stars with better instruction and pictures.

by:

Bolts will not fit had to purchase my own additional 47.00 would have sent it back but I needed to make it work

by:

Hardware does not work for vehicle it was purchases. Have sent two messages to Kevin without a reply.

by:

I finally got the receiver hitch installed. It was problematic but pretty straight forward once the spacers and bolts installation were figured out. I was lucky to have a 2 post lift and that made the installation MUCH easier. I do not think you could do it lying on your back looking up at everything that needed to be done. Also to do the install the spare tire had to be removed then re-installed after the hitch had been placed. I think the instructions could have been better but that is from some one who used to write instructions.
In any event all is well in this area of the world

by:

Exactly what I needed. I did have a shop install it and I’m glad I did.

2025 Tacoma SR 6 ft extended cab with leaf springs. Fit between the frame and hole alignment is great.Finsh is great .Only issue is the frame access hole is not big enough for the round head carriage bolt and even if it was would have to remove leaf spring shackle bolt to get lock block washer through. Bought 6 grade 8 bolts grade 8 washers and went through the frame. Once decided to go through frame and had new hardware took about a hour to install. A couple of center punches helped hold in place while pushing bolts through. Very happy with it overall.

by:

Solid product, with one flaw. The instructions that came with the product show bolts with large rectangular spacers spanning a frame element from the outside, but the supplied bolts were not long enough for this configuration. The frame element on my 2025 Tacoma is 3” wide and the bolts are only 1.75”. See photo. The online instructions showed threading the bolts and washers through the hollow frame element with provided thread leads. This also didn’t work as illustrated because the bolts were too large to fit through the passage. The opening is wide enough, but the bolt would have to traverse a cross-element to get into position. See photos. It is possible to mount the product with the supplied hardware, but I had to improvise the method and it wasn’t at all straightforward. In retrospect, I should have gone to the hardware store and bought some longer bolts.

Still well satisfied now that it’s securely mounted. No operational concerns at all. It’s very solid.

When mounting your own, have a spotter or something to hold it in place while you work, and consider getting longer bolts if you run into the same issues I did.

I had to buy new bolts for my hitch. The bolts won’t snake through my frame on my 2025 Tacoma. They are to short, an extra $27 no big deal but I couldn’t use the bolts or nuts that came with it. Install was quick and easy. Looks great, it’s centered and solid. Torqued to 130 lbs. I haven’t towed with it yet though. So I will see how it goes. Thank you.

Installation was er, unique using the fishlines, but once the plugs were removed allowing insertion of the bolts, it mostly went according to plan. One difficulty I noted was that the holes in the truck frame were oversized (according to Toyota plan apparently) but the holes in the Curt brackets were made a "clearance size" for the 9/16 bolts. Clearance size didn't really give room enough for the bolts AND fishlines - the bolts tended to bind up in the bracket holes with the fishlines wound. If the holes in the bracket were a skosh larger, maybe even 5/8" this would have been less of a problem. Other than that, all went according to plan.

The receiver is surviving well, no obvious rust i.e. blasted &amp painted well and the ball tongue still slips in and out. i.e. not rusted in place yet.

  • When Will the Curt Trailer Hitch for My 2024 Toyota Tacoma be Released?
Hello Tom, I am very sorry that the # C22ZV has not been released at this time. Toyota made some pretty drastic changes from the 2023 Tacoma to the 2024. Looks like in 2023 they decided to build the Sequoia on the same frame as the Tundra, well I guess they liked that idea so much that in 2024 they decided to do the same for the Tacoma. Curt does not have a set date on when it will be released which is why we have to keep pushing the date back. I really wish I had a better answer for you...
