When Will the Curt Trailer Hitch for My 2024 Toyota Tacoma be Released?

Updated 11/04/2025 | Published 01/16/2025

Question:

When do you expect a class 3 hitch to be available for a 2024 tacoma? Was supposed to be December. I want to buy a Tacoma but want to make sure I can get trailer hitch first.

Hello Tom,

I am very sorry that the # C22ZV has not been released at this time. Toyota made some pretty drastic changes from the 2023 Tacoma to the 2024. Looks like in 2023 they decided to build the Sequoia on the same frame as the Tundra, well I guess they liked that idea so much that in 2024 they decided to do the same for the Tacoma. Curt does not have a set date on when it will be released which is why we have to keep pushing the date back. I really wish I had a better answer for you but we do not know until they are released.

You could always reach out to Toyota and see how much more it is for a Tacoma that comes with the Factory Tow Package. They have a couple of trims that offer this package from what I have found in my research.

I am very sorry I do not have a more direct answer as I do not like my answers to be vague.

Hey Tom, were you able to find out if a Tacoma with the factory tow package would meet your needs while waiting for the Curt hitch release? Knowing what route you took could help others trying to plan their purchase too.

@KateF I had to trade my 2025 tacoma with 6000 miles in on a new tacoma with a factory hitch. They kept saying the hitch was coming but I couldn'T wait for it. I lost a lot on the trade in.Why does it take curt well over a year to make a trailer hitch for a new truck? Not happy with curt.

@TomB I’m sorry to hear that, Tom. I never like losing money either! It’s definitely frustrating waiting for the aftermarket guys to catch up with the new hitches. It would be nice if Toyota shared their plans ahead of time so they could get a head start, but that’ll never happen. Toyota would rather you buy directly from them so they can overcharge you. This year we’ve seen quite a few frame changes across different vehicles, so I’m sure Curt has their work cut out for them. The Tacoma is such a popular truck for towing that I’m honestly surprised they haven’t released their version yet.
