Today we're going be taking a look at the Valterra bug screen for RV's. This bug screen is going to be great for RV furnaces, water heaters and battery vents. It's very easy to install. It's made from a heavy duty stainless steel construction. It's going to do a great job at keeping our unwanted pests like nesting insects, birds, and rodents. It offers minimal air flow restriction.
It's going to include one screen, one installation tool, and two spring fasteners. Taking a look at the dimensions real quick. Going edge to edge this direction is 4 1/2 inches, other direction is also 4 1/2 inches. Then the depth, it's going to measure about 1 and 5/16ths of an inch deep. Now it's always a good idea to inspect your screens monthly and clean them when necessary to help maintain proper air flow. When you're ready to install your screen, you want to position your screen over the vent louvers and determine the best locations to install the springs. Now on the spring itself you're going to notice that one end is open.
The other end has a cross bar that runs across it. The cross bar end connects to the vent, the open end connects to the screen. Now the best place to hook this spring connector is below the louvers on the flat part of the panel, and that's of the vent. The other end of the spring is going to connect to the screen. Then you can simply use the included tool. This is going to help stretch this spring and easily hook this spring onto the vent louvers. That's going to do it for today's look at the Valterra bug screen for RV's..

Stop the invasion of unwanted insects, pests, and debris into your Suburban RV water heater, Atwood furnace, and battery vents. Stainless-steel screen prevents wasps, mud daubers, and birds from building nests that may block your vent's airflow.I cannot rate because the size is ok, but cannot install in my Jayco Redhawk RV because has other components that makes difficult to install and will be returning them.
Great fit, easy to install.
Works great on a 2021 Jayco Jay Feather 24BH
The screen is great. Nice and sturdy. Easy to install. I used this on the left side of the heater door. Part number A10-1323VP for the right side.
The retaining clips, not so much. On paper, this was probably a good idea, but I could not get the clip to stay connected. I ended up using a role of small medium gauge wire to hold this in place and now the screen is locked in place.
Excellent product. A bit fiddly to install the spring retainers, but once you figure it out it goes smoothly enough.
And they do keep nest-building bugs out.
Screen came in good condition. Easy to install. Dometic 6 gal. water heater.
