greatFit like a glove. Took 80 minutes but had to talk about it and a few cold adult beverages. Would get the tap for the 12mm bolts. Had some corosion in the nuts on the frame. Cleaned up the holes and the bolts went in all the way with my fingers. Perfect fit and looks really good.

Just finished installing my hitch. Went on like a good glove except for one 12mm bolt on the passenger side. I cleaned all nuts on frame with wire brush and WD 40 prior to installation. Great idea, made the job so much simpler. Would recommend tap for the 12mm holes. I had a bad nut and it cost me 20 minutes. The whole job took me 120 minutes by myself. Great product...

Thanks for the feedback. Those weld-nuts can take up some extra time, but once cleaned, they make the install a snap.

Bar fits pefectly - but Nissan makes it toughYou can actually get the tow bar in place without lowering the exhaust. However, unless the Murano is brand-new, you will not be able to clean out the M12 - 1.25 fine thread weld nuts to get the bolts started with the exhaus tin the way.

by:

Nice hitch might include 14x1.25 tap to clean threads out for easier installation.

The trailer hitch was well finished and well packaged. The installation video that was available for the Murano was spot on and my experience installing the hitch was near identical to the video. Very helpful.

by:

The hitch receiver was exactly as advertised. It fit perfectly, and installation was quick and easy! Also, I was very impressed by etrailer's quick response in ordering, shipping, and follow-up after the sale. That's the way I like to do business!

Perfect fit, good constructionBought this in lieu of the dealer's $500+ hitch after reading various reviews by other Murano Owners. This hitch is well built. The welds are relatively smooth and even, and the tolerances for the bolt holes are very good. Installation was fairly easy and required no more than 50 minutes, including the manipulation of the exhaust system. I would definitely recommend this hitch especially given the cost savings over OEM.

  • Best Trailer Towing Setup for a 2006 Nissan Murano
The wiring you need is the Curt T-Connector # C49KR wiring kit as it is the only one available for your 2006 Nissan Murano. For a trailer hitch I recommend going with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13571 which is a Class III hitch with a 2" receiver. It has a Gross Towing Weight (GTW) rating of 3,500 lbs and a max Tongue Weight (TW) rating of 350 lbs but you will want to check the weight capacity rating of your Murano in your owner's manual to ensure that you do not exceed the lower...

  • Is a Square or Round Tube Trailer Hitch Stronger for a 2006 Nissan Murano
No matter how a hitch is constructed, round or square, they are all built for and tested for a certain capacity based on many factors. Two different hitches, one with a round tube and one with a square tube, that have the same capacity will be equally as strong. They have to be to reach the rating they are given. With that said I am of the opinion that square is stronger in the long run. Any of the hitches we carry for the 2006 Nissan Murano are rated for 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight...

Rental places like Uhaul require that your 2007 Nissan Murano has a trailer hitch rated for the weight of the trailer, a trailer wiring harness to activate the trailer lights, and accessories such as a ball mount and ball. But if the trailer has surge brakes or electric brakes you will need some additional equipment such as a brake controller and 5- or 7-Way trailer connector. To get the weight of your 1952 Terry trailer I would try to see if it has any type of identification plate or sticker on the trailer itself or the trailer axle that might indicate the weight of the trailer. The other choice if you cannot find a plate is to get it weighed on a local commercial scale at a truck stop, quarry or material supply center. I am including a link to a FAQ page that will talk about determining the weight of your trailer. After you find out the weight of your empty...
