Features to know about

Haul Everyday Loads with Confidence: Class III Strength and 2" Receiver

This hitch gives you the muscle to tow or carry gear without worry. With a 6,000-lb maximum gross trailer weight and 600-lb tongue weight, it’s built for light to moderate towing jobs like small campers, boats, or utility trailers. If you’re using a weight distribution system, those limits rise to 10,000 lbs GTW and 1,000 lbs TW. The 2" x 2" receiver works perfectly with common bike racks, cargo carriers, and ball mounts so you can put it to use right away.

Simplify Your Install: Bolt-On Design with Included Hardware

There’s no welding or fabrication needed here. The fully welded square-tube hitch bolts directly to the frame using the included complete hardware kit and clear installation instructions. That makes it ideal for a DIY install in the driveway using basic tools. Precision robotic welding ensures everything lines up just right for a secure fit every time.

Stand Up to the Elements: Durable, Corrosion-Resistant Steel

The gloss black powder coat finish sits over a protective base layer to fight rust and corrosion season after season. It keeps the hitch looking clean while adding another layer of durability for daily use, towing trips, or long hauls in all kinds of weather. The sturdy steel construction means you can count on it staying solid even after years of service.

Free shipping arrived quickly. The hitch required some "adjustments" with a hammer to fit my van but bolted right up afterwards. Would buy again

by:

delivery was faster than they say, and the part went on in less than a hour. haven't gotten to use it yet to pull trailer or a cargo rack but up to this point love it!

I would like to say great job. I place an order and in two days the order was delivered in full. There was no backorder on the items I order. It was very easy placing my order on the etrailer website. Once again great job!!

by:

The trailer hitch for my 98 Dodge van fit perfect, looks great and was easily installed by myself.

by:

I looked everywhere in my local area for the right hitch with no luck. I shopped online and found a couple $50-$75 more with shipping. Then I saw Etrailers ad and clicked on it, not only was it priced better I spent enough for the free shipping and to top all that they upgraded me to 2 day shipping. They are awesome!!! If and when I need something else I will be back. They estimated the installation at 40min it took like 20min and was so easy.THANKS again!!

by:

I received this well built hitch quick. Mounted it even quicker and install went without a hitch lol. I will not hesitate to call on y'all again. Great company and well thought out package with all necessary parts to make this install perfect. Thank y'all...

by:

Fantastic service and hitch. Called to verify fit on my 99 Dodge Ram Van 3500 RoadTrek and spoke to really nice guy who confirmed it for me. Arrived promptly and very well packaged and nicely painted. Heavy duty thang! Great detailed video for installation. You guys rock eTrailer! Best price I found too!

by:

Great fitment and easy to install.

by:

The hitch is heavy duty and well made however the hardware was incorrect for my vehicle. It came with carriage bolts and plates that get pulled through from inside the frame, then nuts are used outside to attach the hitch. However my vehicle already has threaded inserts inside the frame. I ended up having to source the proper size bolts myself.

by:

Product just as described. Bolted onto vehicle easily. Easy purchase. Great price. Very prompt shipping. Great followup.

Great

by:

Perfect fit, easy one-person installation. Easier to put in position if you don't use a lift. Prop up the hitch on some 2x4s to put in position, unless you can talk someone into sliding under the vehicle with you. Only tools needed are the proper socket, extension, and a torque wrench (directions say 110 ft-lbs). Hardest part was removing the older small hitch.

by:

Great website, easy to deal with. The hitch and wire harness worked perfect. It took me 45 minutes to install.

No Issues. Good Product, fair price.

by:

Fits Ram Van 1999-2004. My frame had the pre-installed nuts, so I bought 6 Class 10.9 Steel Cap Screw, 45mm Length, Fully Threaded, M12-1.75 Metric Coarse Threads bolts. The holes were off by about 1/4 inch, so I took a 5 lb. sledge and pounded one side of hitch until it lined up. The paint stood up to the pounding pretty well and that was the only issue for installation (thus the 4 star rating).

by:

We had the hitch unpacked and installed in 20 minutes. Perfect fit and AWESOME customer service. Thanks Vince!

by:

Fit perfectly easy to install

Nice catch while fishing! I absolutely love your additions to the review. Let us know how your catch works for your first towing venture.

by:

It is a perfect fit for my 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 Van. It feels extremely durable and well put together. It is quite heavy, I would recommend a 2 man team although I was able to put it on by myself. It came with proper instructions along with the torque specs so you can do it yourself if you desire or do not have the money to have a shop do it. The delivery was also very quick, I didn't need it immediately but it was nice that it was quite prompt.

by:

Thanks for your inquiry. Last Saturday, the weather finally was good enough and the tow-bar went up without a hitch (pun intended) onto our little Roadtrek.
The bolts proved long enough to do a stress-free one person one-side-at-a-time lift-in-place into a perfect fit, which was really nice.
Those same bolts were a tad long for a 100% insert of the nuts into the regular sockets of my 'real' torque wrench but torquing it all up went just fine.

See photo's, all ready for the bicycle carrier (on extender). 5 stars.

by:

Second hitch I've bought and installed from this company, same brand as well. Came quick, installed in about 30mins. All holes lined up perfectly. Once installed, the only part of it that shows is the square receiver. Very professional appearance once installed. Thanks!! 1998 Ram 1500 Conversion Van.

by:

I’ve had it for a year. It works really well. Installation was super easy but there’s signs of rust on it already.

by:

First time ordering from etrailer. Awesome experience. Easy finding the correct hitch, quick shipping and a easy install. Bolted right up. The wire fish to get the bolts into the frame was a very nice touch. Appreciate a stand up business, in a time where so many are shady.

2000 Dodge Ram Van/Wagon retired extended passenger van.

I got lucky with no weld nuts on my van! Installation was a breeze even for a broke down 63 year old man with osteoarthritis, degenerative disks, and so much more. I didn't watch the clock and was interrupted by a phone call half way in but I estimate that once I laid everything out I had this installed in under 30 minutes.

Whether or not you can teach an old dog new tricks is still up for debate but you can learn some new tricks from this old Dawg.

Cardboard. Great for laying on to slide around from side to side without limiting space while protecting the hitch from scratched paint. The box it came in is a good start.

Rope. If you are like me you can't find good help, especially free help, so doing things yourself often requires ingenuity. Slide the hitch under the van and support the receiving tube close to installed position. Once you insert the bolts and plates, which I easily did without the fish wire, support one side of the hitch close to installed position as well. The rope is the extra hands you need and eliminates the strain of trying to hold the hitch up with your leg or the risk of it slipping off stands.

Start a couple of nuts on the free side, then move to the other removing the rope there and starting the nuts on that side. You can now remove the rope from the tube.

Start the remaining 2 nuts and gradually hand tighten them all.

IMPORTANT- The hitch flange, at least in my case, lands right up against the body to frame welds. When you start snugging the nuts snug the two rear first as there is just enough slack to position the hitch against the frame without overlapping the sheet metal welds. Tighten all the nuts with a ratchet and long extension and finish with the torque wrench.

DONE! Probably taking me longer for this review than actual installation and.....

I didn't watch any videos prior to installation.

  • Could Curt Hitch # 13015 Fit 2000 Dodge 3500 Roadtrek Van 190
I looked up pictures of 2000 RoadTrek RV's made from Dodge Vans and some of them appear very similar to the standard Dodge van they were built off of and our hitches like part # 13015 would fit and work well. Check out the picture I attached and if the rear bumper is the same as what is in the picture this hitch would fit and work well. The second picture I attached shows the underside of the van with the hitch installed. You would need to compare that to your vehicle as well.

  • Recommended Hitch for 1998 Dodge Ram B1500 Van with Factory Standard Bumper
For a 1998 Dodge B1500 van with a standard factory bumper (and no weld nuts in the frame) the hitch I recommend is the USA-made Curt # 13015. I suggest this hitch because it has a higher weight rating than the Draw-Tite # 75140, 6000-lbs trailer weight rather than 5000-lbs, which gives you a useful safety margin. It includes all required hardware and an installation video is linked for you too. If you also need a 4-pole harness you can use Curt Powered Tail Light Converter with 4-Pole...

  • Trailer Hitch for a 1999 Dodge Ram Van to Move a Boat Trailer
There are no front mount trailer hitches that will fit the 1999 Dodge Full-Size vans. They are not built on the same platform as the Ram trucks of the same generation so the front mount hitches for the Ram trucks will not fit the Ram Vans. You can install a rear trailer hitch. If your van has the standard bumper then you can use # 13015 (Hitch will not work on models with existing weldnuts on the frame). And if it has the factory step bumper use # 13590.

  • Hitch Availability for 1999 Dodge 1500 Conversion Van
Several hitches, both Class III and Class IV types, are offered for the different versions of the 1999 full-size Dodge van. The key factor in selecting the right one is the type of bumper on the van, either a standard bumper or a step bumper. The presence of the spare tire is not noted by the manufacturers as affecting the fit; only the bumper type matters. Please see the linked article on bumper types. Versions of the van with existing weld nuts on the frame are not compatible with certain...

  • Parts Needed To Tow a Trailer with Brakes with a 2000 Dodge Van 3500
I have a few different trailer hitch options for a 2000 Dodge Van depending on the bumper, if you have a step bumper then we have the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 13590 but if you have the standard bumper we have the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 13015. These capacities are right at the end of your needs but they can be increased when using a weight distribution system like the Curt Weight Distribution System part # C17341. The B&W Heavy-Duty Trailer Hitch Receiver # BWHDRH25198 fits a variety of pickups but you'll need a different hitch for your 2000 Dodge Van 3500. From the linked selection I recommend going with the Curt # 13590 if you have the factory step bumper or the Curt # 13015 if you have the standard bumper. If you plan on using this for towing then I recommend using the Tekonsha Wiring # 118368 and checking out Ball Mount Kit # 989900 because it includes two ball mounts, one with a 3/4” rise/2”...

Weldnuts are the nuts that a mounting bolt will thread into and are welded to the holes on the inside of the vehicles frame. Usually it is just a nut inside the vehicle frame but it might be a plate with threads. Removing the weldnuts might be very difficult since they are located inside the vehicles frame and hard to access. I am sending a link to a video that will show how to remove corrosion inside a weldnut. This video will show you the weldnut in the frame. On your 2001 Dodge Full...

  • Can The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13015 Be Installed With Bolts Rather Than The Carriage Bolts?
While I have seen reviews that the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13015 was able to be installed with bolts on a 2002 Dodge Ram 2500 Van I cannot recommend doing this. Since the instructions only show the installation being done with the included carriage bolts any failure would be blamed on an incorrect installation. Instead you would want to use the Draw-Tite # 75140 which comes with both styles of hardware and has additional brackets that are likely needed to support the receiver when...

The motorcycle carrier has a weight capacity of 500 pounds. • Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2000 Dodge 1500 Camper Van
We don't have any front mounted hitches or bike racks available for your 2000 Dodge Camper Van. The best option I could list for you would be to go with a rear mounted hitch and bike rack. For a hitch I would recommend the # 13015 if you don't have one already. For a bike rack you should check out the Swagman XTC2 part # S64670. You can use the Hollywood Racks SR1 Bike Rack part # HRSR1 on a vehicle that has an off-center spare tire, but since yours has a cover on it this would not be the correct rack to use unless you were okay with removing the cover. You would first need to start with a hitch if you do not have one already. For that you would want the part # 13015 as it has been confirmed as a fit for your vehicle.
