Freezing weather thickens the fluids your equipment depends on. This 250-watt adhesive pad warms 5 to 13 quarts of engine oil or 10 to 30 gallons of hydraulic or transmission fluid, easing cold starts and sluggish operation.
When temperatures drop, thick engine oil creates more resistance during cranking and takes longer to circulate. This 250-watt silicone pad warms 5 to 13 quarts of engine oil through the metal pan, reducing that resistance and getting lubrication moving sooner. It's a useful option for trucks and equipment with larger oil capacities that spend winter nights outside or in an unheated shop.
This heater also works with hydraulic and transmission systems holding 10 to 30 gallons of fluid. Warming those fluids before operation can make a difference when cold equipment feels sluggish and the hydraulics or transmission need time to warm up.
Before choosing a pad, take a look underneath your oil pan, transmission housing, or hydraulic tank. This one measures 4-1/2" long x 3-1/2" wide, and the entire pad must contact a flat, smooth metal surface. Ridges, grooves, bends, or other raised areas can leave gaps underneath the heater and interfere with heat transfer.
The adhesive backing works on steel or aluminum, so you're not limited to the steel surfaces required by a magnetic heater. Proper preparation matters, though. Remove paint, grease, and dirt from the mounting area, warm the metal as instructed, and make sure the pad is fully bonded before regular use.
A built-in thermostat regulates the pad within a 170F to 200F range, cycling the heater as needed instead of continuously heating at full power. The temperature of the oil or other fluid will vary with the weather, fluid volume, and installation. Once properly mounted, the pad can stay attached to your equipment, with the included 6' grounded cord ready to plug into a 120V outlet during cold spells.
An oil-pan heater warms the lubricant, while an engine block heater (sold separately) primarily warms the coolant. For equipment that regularly sees severe cold, using both addresses different parts of the starting process. A battery heater (sold separately) can also maintain available cold-cranking amps. Together, these heaters can help prepare your engine and battery for freezing mornings.
Zerostart is a Phillips & Temro brand, from the company behind a broad line of engine, battery, and equipment heaters. If the Zerostart name is new to you, this pad comes from a manufacturer that has spent years developing products for cold-weather equipment operation.
Install only on steel or aluminum with enough flat, smooth space for the entire 4-1/2" x 3-1/2" pad. Avoid ridges, grooves, bends, and raised areas that prevent full contact. Do not install on plastic or composite materials.
Remove paint from an area slightly larger than the pad and scuff the metal with sandpaper. Clean with acetone or brake cleaner and dry completely. Warm the mounting surface above 100F (38C) before applying the pad.
Remove the adhesive backing and use the included scraper to press the pad firmly against the metal, removing air gaps. Apply the included silicone sealant around the edges, not underneath the pad. Do not use additional adhesive to secure it. Wait 24 hours before regular operation.
Never cut, trim, or puncture the pad. Keep the cord away from excessive heat, moving components, and abrasion. Avoid exposing the pad to corrosive acids or ammonia. Use a properly rated grounded extension cord suitable for outdoor use when needed.

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a quick look at the Zerostart and silicone pad heater. Now typically you know the feeling, it's freezing outside, you turn the key and the engine just groans in protest. Well, this little silicone pad is going to help fix all of that. You're just going to stick it on, plug it in, and it's gonna quietly keep your fluids warm so your engine starts up smooth and no more cold morning battles. So when the temperature drops, you probably know that oil thickens and fluids are gonna slow down, making your engine work harder.
This pad is going to gently warm them up so everything is gonna flow freely and start up with ease, even on the coolest mornings. Now cold starts can be tough on your engine and other components, scraping and grinding until that oil actually circulates. So by preheating the fluids, this pad's gonna help prevent wear and tear, saving you from expensive repairs later on. Snow, slush, and rain can't bother this. The durable silicone is going to help seal out the moisture and it's going to stick securely to smooth metal surfaces.
And then you're just going to plug this six foot long cord into a standard 120 volt outlet and it's gonna keep steady heat going all winter long. This packs 250 watts of heat to keep that pan or housing warm. So bringing out my ruler here just to give you some measurements. Looking at the overall length, we're sitting at four and a half inches. The overall width, three and a half inches.
So this is gonna be perfect for oil pans holding five to 13 quarts or hydraulic transmission systems up to 10 to 30 gallons. And again, we're gonna just plug that into your standard three prong plug or extension cord. And this does have a thermostat range rather from 170 degrees to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. It includes everything that you see here. If you happen to have any other additional questions about this heater or anything else that we carry, don't hesitate to reach out to us.
We want to make sure that you're getting exactly what you want and need. Well again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me.
