When winter cold thickens engine oil or transmission fluid, getting moving takes more effort. This 300-watt clamp-on heater warms the pan before startup, helping fluids flow more readily for easier starts and smoother operation.
If your engine sits outside or in an unheated shop, cold oil can make starting harder than it needs to be. This 300-watt heater presses against the outside of the oil pan, transferring heat through the metal to help the oil flow more readily when it's time to start. It can also warm transmission fluid before operation, reducing the sluggishness that comes with freezing temperatures.
It's an option when your engine doesn't have a suitable core-plug opening or you'd rather not open the cooling system to install a block heater. Keep in mind that this heater warms oil or transmission fluid, not engine coolant.
The 4" x 4" heating plate needs to sit firmly against the metal pan for good heat transfer. Before installing, look for a smooth, flat contact area and enough room to route the included mounting clamp around the pan. Raised ribs, irregular shapes, and nearby components can interfere with mounting.
Zerostart calls this a universal clamp, but that doesn't mean every pan will accommodate it. Checking the available space and how the clamp will secure the heater is important before choosing this mounting style.
Unlike silicone pads that require surface preparation and adhesive, this heater uses mechanical mounting hardware to hold its heating plate against the pan. There's no adhesive backing to apply or curing period to plan around. The clamp keeps the heater in place, making this another option for equipment that needs external oil heating.
The included 5' silicone power cord connects to the heating element and can be detached without removing the heater from its mounting location. That's useful when you need to disconnect the power before operating your vehicle or equipment. The heater runs on standard 120V household power and uses approximately 2.5 amps.
Zerostart is a Phillips & Temro brand, from the company behind engine, battery, and equipment heaters. If the Zerostart name is new to you, know that this clamp-on heater comes from a manufacturer with years of experience developing products for cold-weather equipment operation.

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at the ZeroStart clamp on oil pan and transmission heater. Now, when temperatures drop, getting your engine to start can feel like a losing battle, especially when the oil or transmission fluid thickens up like molasses. So if your engine doesn't have a core plug for a traditional block heater, this clamp on heater is gonna give you an easy, effective solution. This is going to mount directly to your oil pan or transmission, and it puts out 300 watts of steady heat to keep your fluids loose and your engine ready to fire up, even on the coldest mornings. This four by four heating element is going to press right up against the metal surface for efficient heat transfer, while the universal clamp is going to make insulation simple across a variety of setups.
This is built for durability. The heater includes a tough, removable five foot long silicone power cord that's gonna stand up to heavy use and extreme temperatures, and it can be detached for easy storage or replacement, as you see here. This is compact, yet powerful, it's a reliable way to prevent sluggish, cold starts when the mercury drops. Another thing I wanted to point out, I noticed this with most, if not all, ZeroStart heaters that I've seen, it does come with a little tethered cap here so you can cover up that the power cord that plugs into the outlet or the extension cord. So it'll protect those prongs when not in use.
But it does come with everything that you see here. This is CSA certified. And again, this heater size is gonna be four inches by four inches. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to give us a ring. We do wanna make sure that you're getting exactly what you need.
Well, again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
