Video Transcript for Review of Roadmaster Coiled Tow Bar Power Cord 8 Foot - RM88BQ

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this Roadmaster coil tow bar power cord. Now, this cord is going to power your flat tow brake system, tail lights, diodes, and other accessories, and it is coiled so it won't drag on the ground. And this seven-way connector is going to plug into your RV and then the six-way round connector plugs into your towed car. And this does extend up to eight feet.

And this is durable. It has a UV resistant vinyl coating, so it's gonna hold up really well to the elements that it's constantly going to be exposed to, and it's gonna be a very easy installation. And if you decide that this is going to be exactly what you need, we would love to hear back from you regarding your experience with this cable. You can leave us a review on this product page or a comment, and if you leave a review, you can send us some photos of your towing setup and photos of this in action. We would love to hear back from you.

Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our quick look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.

That is correct Matt, I am very sorry you ordered this one. In order to install through sleeves on tow bars you would indeed need the # RM-1676-7 as it has the longer straight part to go through, then you will wire on the 6 way connector.

  • Do Blue Ox and Roadmaster 7-Way to 6-Way Coiled Cords Have the Same Pinout?
Hey Kevin! The Blue Ox 7-Wire to 6-Wire, Coiled Electrical Cord # BX88206 and the red Roadmaster Coiled Tow Bar Power Cord # RM88BQ both have the same pinout so you can swap them without needing to rewire any plugs on your motorhome or Jeep. Did your old cord go out on you?

  • Recommended 7-Way to 6-Pole Flat Tow Trailer Connector That Works w/a Charge Line
Hey Brian. You're going to need the Roadmaster Coiled Tow Bar Power Cord - 7-Way to 6-Way item # RM88BQ, which is wired to work with a charge line like the Roadmaster item # RM-156-25. This connector carries the charge line signal from the 1 o'clock terminal on your motorhome's 7-way to the center pin on your towed vehicle's 6-way connector. I attached a couple of diagrams below so you can make sure the charge lines are setup correctly to work with the Roadmaster item # RM88BQ. You'll...

  • Do I Need a Flat Tow Braking System for a 2024 Ford Maverick?
Hey Cyndi, thanks for the information! For safety cables, I recommend the RoadMaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables item # RM-643. Coiled safety cables are best used on tow bars, like your Stowmaster item # RM-501, that do not have safety cable channels. The tension provided by the coils helps keep the cables from hanging down and getting tangled on something or dragging on the ground. For the 7-Way to 6-Way cable, you'll want the Roadmaster Coiled Tow Bar Power Cord - 7-Way to...

Since you already have the baseplate kit part # BLU76CR and the Blue Ox diode kit part # BX8848 there are several more parts you will need for the electrical side including the charge line kit you are looking for and the 12v outlet kit you will also need. Hey Doug! We do have the 7-Way to 6-Way Coiled Adapter that comes with the # RM-15267. It is the Roadmaster Coiled Tow Bar Power Cord - 7-Way to 6-Way # RM88BQ. I have trouble finding it myself sometimes, it is pretty well hidden for whatever reason. Are you setting up your 2026 Ram 1500 for flat towing?
