Today we're going to take a look at the Taylor Made 15 inch long steel gas shock. Now this gas shock replaced one worn out or damaged shock on your dock box or boat hatch. This is a coated in the old steel construction, provides corrosion resistance. It's perfect for high saltwater areas and it does easily install in minutes. There's no special tools required. And one thing you do need to remember is this rod here, the internal rod, when you install these, you always install it with this rod portion facing down.
And it is always recommended to replace these gas shocks in pairs.Few specs on this. It is designed to fit onto a 10 millimeter ball. Has the 10 millimeter ball socket here with the retaining clip. And basically, let me zoom in, I just want to show you a little detail on it. But basically, what you would end up doing is you'll see this retaining clip on the top here, to install this, there's a slot here or here.
What you'll do is take a flat tip screwdriver, push it under that retaining clip, pop it up, and that'll release it to allow you to snap that onto the 10 millimeter ball. Once it snaps on, you just push that retaining clip back down and it's installed. Simple as that. The length on this is 15 inches. And that's measured from the center of this ball socket to the center of that ball socket. So there's your 15 inch length.
Any output force on this shock is 20 pounds, but that should do it for the review on the Taylor Made 15 inch long steel gas shock.
