Hey everyone, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Today, we're taking a quick look at the tailor-made gas shock. This is going to help to lift and lower your lid on your boat hatch. So it helps to just keep that from slamming down and also helps it to raise up as you open that lid. On either end, we'll have our hinge eye brackets. On this end, it'll actually have a threaded attachment so we can make any adjustments to get everything turned the way that we need it to be.
Maybe get just a little bit more length to the rod.It does have a coated steel rod, so we don't have to worry about any corrosion there. This is going to make it really nice for any kind of application in the water since it's going to be on a boat, especially important, even for marine applications in salt water as well. So it should be resistant to any kind of corrosion there.As far as the measurements with this, we go from end to end. It measures about 15 inches long. End to end, it's about 15 and a half inches long.
If we go from the center of each attachment point, it's right at 15 inches. So from the center of one eye hinge to the same point on the other side, 15 inches. And then shock here is about seven inches long. Other side is just a little bit over nine inches or a little bit under nine inches, I should say. As far as the diameter for that attachment hole, its about a quarter of an inch to 3/8 of an inch.The shock cylinder is about 3/4 of an inch in diameter.
The force needed to or the force that this is rated at is 20 pounds. And that's about all there is to it for our look at the tailor-made gas shock. We do have a couple other configurations of this available with a little bit less or a little bit more force.
