Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Taylor Made 26 inch long steel gas strut for boat hatches. Now this gas struts designed to replace a worn out or damaged strut on your boat's hatch lid, or compartment door. It is designed to extend, to ease lifting your hatch lid, and it will compress to gently close your hatch without slamming. It is a heat treated steel construction, which is very durable and they do use a corrosion resistant coating on it so it doesn't rust even in saltwater areas, and it is a ball and socket installation on each end that attaches to the ball stud that's on the inside of your boat's hatch or compartment door.
Connection type is a 10 millimeter ball socket. Just want to zoom in and show you a closeup. There's the 10 millimeter ball socket that'll fit on the 10 millimeter stud. And it easily installs in minutes, there's no special tools required. Now when installing this, you do want the inner rod facing down and it is recommended to replace these gas struts in pairs.
Total length on this is 26 inches, and that's always measured from the center of this ball socket to the center of that ball socket. So if I take a tape measure, and go center to center, here is your 26 inch measurement compression force on this strut it's 100 pounds and it is for a quantity of one strut, but that should do it for the review on the Taylor Made 26 inch long steel gas strut for boat hatches..
