Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the Taylor Made Marine Gas Strut for your boat hatches. This is going to replace a worn-out or damaged strut on your boat's hatch. It's going to make it much easier to open your hatch, and it will give you a little bit of assistance there. It's also going to help prevent your hatch from slamming shut.

It's going to provide about 10 pounds of force, as you are closing your hatch. It will make that a little bit more difficult so that you don't have to worry about getting your fingers caught in there and smashed or anything like that, that could cause injury or damage. This is a ball socket installation, so you can see there's a socket on each end. Those are going to fit onto your 10 millimeter ball studs. So it should be very easy to get this installed. This is made of a heat treated steel, so it's going to be very durable.

It also has a corrosion resistant coating on it, that's going to prevent it from rusting, even in your saltwater environment. So if you're using your boat out on the ocean, this will still do a good job, it will hold up very well for you. Our overall measurement from the center of one socket down to the center of the other socket, we're looking at right at 15 inches when we have this compressed. If I can compress it and measure it at the same time, we're looking at right about nine inches when compressed. Now this is only going to provide about 10 pounds of force, so it's not the strongest strut that we have here at etrailer.com. So if you're needing something that's a little bit stronger, we do have other options, but I think this is going to do a good job of giving you just enough that it's going to make it easier to open and harder to shut.

So again, you're not getting your fingers caught or potentially damaging other equipment or anything like that. So if you're needing a new gas strut, this is going to be a great option for you. I think you'll be very happy with it. That's going to complete our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com.

Thanks for watching.
