Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

etrailer.com Technical Support

Perfect fit. I was able to install this hitch in about 30-40min with no drilling. Etrailer has excellent prices & I received hitch in 2 days with free shipping !

Great products, great prices, fast shipping and a great company to do business with. Easy install, and it took longer to trim the air dam than installing the hitch.

Its still working great! Ive always had at least one vehicle with a front hitch, but none of them were this easy to install. This is the only way to move trailers around tight spots and flatbeds that you cant see the end of the trailer.

1995 GMC C/K Series Pickup

Great solid piece, as you would expect. Extra longer bolts are included in case you have the factory tow hooks, a nice touch and saves $10 at the hardware store.

Not a complaint, just info; you have to remove the bumper to fit the front bolts, they won't drop in past the bumper brackets at least on my '95. Cut a hole and some minor trimming, and it works with the factory air dam as well.

@Bill Well I am really happy to hear that. :) Happy hauling!

I have had this hitch installed for just over a year now on my '99 2-door Tahoe. The install was pretty straight forward, and the hitch itself has held up quite well through a year's worth of abuse. I use it to run my bike rack out the front; the receiver protrudes just below the factory front bumper, maximizing ground clearance when adding length to the front of the vehicle. And as you can see, the kit comes with two sets of hardware in case you want to maintain the factory tow hooks like I have.

Etrailer as usual did an amazing job. Shipping was fast. Product was easy to install. The wires provided were a huge help with getting the bolts aligned properly. My only regret is that there isn't enough projects and money at my house to order more things from etrailer, but they are always my first click when looking. Thank you guys keep up the outstanding work.

This is the second front hitch I’ve ordered
Works
great, looks nice on the vehicle fits tight under bumper like it came from the assembly line of my truck! I use it for my winches and moving trailers around the yard. Very easy install will take less than 20mins to install. I installed them on a 99 Chevy Tahoe and a 97 Chevy pickup. Very fast delivery from etrailer company

Chevrolet Silverado

Fits perfectly, i like that it comes with the guide wires makes it all go smooth and easy! Install was maaaybe 30minutes and super simple, using it for winch set up, it is perfect (1993 chevy 1500 silverado extended cab) no modifications needed to my truck! Definitely a cheaper solution than to buying a modified bumper for winching. Nice sturdy product.

Peaches is my 95 Chevy and she loves the front hitch it helps to put the trailer right where I want

by:

The unit exceeded my expectations. The fit was perfect. I also greatly appreciated the extra long bolts so that I could reinstall my OEM tow hooks. Those pulling wires are ingenious !

by:

Fast shipping, easy installation, fits well to by K1500

by:
1992 GMC Suburban

Have not installed yet as build is in progress, but this this is like a piece of Battleship iron. Heavy duty to the max. The 12k winch will smoke before breaking this thing.

by:

Great hitch, fit my 98 Chevy K2500 like a glove. The only thing I'd change is to include 4 longer bolts for people who have tow hooks like my truck has. Had to buy longer ones.

  • Front Hitch Recommendation for 1992 Chevy C1500
For your 1992 Chevy C1500 we have the Curt front hitch part # 31042 that I would recommend as it does not require moving the front license plate bracket like the Draw Tite part # 65005. I would only recommend going with the Draw Tite if you needed the max ground clearance as possible.

  • Front Receiver Hitch for a 1989 Chevy K1500 (4x4)
We have a couple of options for front mount hitches that will fit your 1989 Chevy K1500. First we have # 65005. With this hitch drilling is required for installation but it costs less than the other option. That other option is Curt hitch # 31042 which does not require drilling. Either hitch is rated for 9,000 pounds line pull and 500 pounds vertical load (tongue weight). I have included links to the installation instructions for both hitches for you.

This receiver is rated for 9,000 lbs line pull, vertical load of 500 lbs, and gross trailer weight of 5,000 lbs. I also recommend the Draw-Tite QSP Trailer Hitch Silencer and Cover for 2" Hitch Receivers # 63080 to go with this receiver. I've attached a video of this product to assist. We currently have two front mount trailer hitch receivers for your 1996 Chevrolet K1500, the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 65005 and the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 31042. They both have a 9,000 lb line pull and 500 lb vertical load weight capacity. They also both install using three holes on each side. • Which Front Mount Trailer Hitch for a 1999 Chevy Suburban has the Best Ground Clearance
I have included a picture. In the picture the top drawing is the Draw-Tite hitch # 65005. You can see how the receiver sits just below the bumper (and will stick through the optional lower fascia piece, if present). The bottom installed picture is from a customer who installed the Curt hitch # 31042. It is also below the bumper but appears to hang down lower than the Draw-Tite hitch. based on this the Draw-Tite hitch is going to provide better ground clearance.
