This fifth-wheel hitch system includes a lightweight frame that installs on industry-standard rails just like a regular fifth-wheel hitch. The frame holds a ball above your pickup bed at the proper height to connect to your fifth-wheel trailer. Because the ball is held above the bed of your truck, this adapter avoids the stress and chucking that longer, conventional fifth-wheel adapters create. And the included coupler adapter installs in a snap, converting your trailer's king pin to a gooseneck ball coupler.
The frame with ball weighs only 40 pounds and replaces the standard, heavy, cast iron skid plate and locking jaws of a typical fifth-wheel hitch. This system is light enough for just one person to easily install and remove. You'll always be able to take out the frame when you want full use of your pickup truck bed.
The king pin adapter includes a remote release that you operate with a cable, so you can latch the coupler to the ball without climbing into the back of your truck. Made of powder-coated steel, the adapter is resistant to rust and corrosion.
And because a ball-and-coupler connection has more swivel than a standard fifth-wheel hitch, you'll be able to more easily hook up your trailer on uneven ground.

The product is fantastic, it's packaging lacks a little to be desired, it showed up dented and scratched because it is not protected properly. It is heavy so ups drug it around and damaged the box.
Seemed to ride ok but I did not trust the block mounted to the kingpin. It would loosen itself and I would consistently have to check and tighten the screws. Did not trust it so I replaced it with a B&W.
I had been looking for a 5th wheel hitch that would fit in a Ford Dually truck I had just purchased. The truck had an existing flip up ball. It also had a 98 gal. fuel tank in the bed and a tonneau cover which I had to take into consideration. I was unable to find a hitch that would work without leaving rails in the bed until I found the Anderson Ultimate 5th wheel connection. I had a tight schedule and needed it to be sent 3 day delivery. The staff at etrailer.com went out of their way to give me measurements and make the schedule happen. It arrived on schedule and appears to be exactly what I need.

I did a lot of research trying to find the best bang for my buck and this is it. I have owned the hitch for about a year now and have had zero issues with it. I use it on my 40 foot elevation toy hauler and it works great and you can't beat the fact that you can take it out in a matter of minutes and have a completely empty and clean truck bed!!!!
I am very happy with hitch, installation was easy with instructions provided, the best part is hooking up trailer, hitch is up where I can see in rear view mirror when backing under it. I can easily remove it and hookup my other trailer which is a gooseneck trailer.
Well I just received it. I haven't put it in my truck yet but it looks very strong and sturdy.
I watched a video that Andersen had made abut this product and in the video they said it will work with a short bed truck. But that does not seem to be the case with my truck and trailer. I emailed Andersen about this but had no response. The problem is when I turn sharp to back the 5th wheel into a parking spot the 5th wheel will hit the cab of my truck. The hitch itself is great. Would like to hear back on why it dose not seem to work on my setup.

I had reservations about using the Andersen Ultimate fifth wheel hitch, most of the reviews (that I researched) were negative but I decided to try the product for myself. I have a 2016 Titan XD SV (gas) model with a 6.5 truck bed and a 2017 Springdale fifth wheel (253FWRE). I can say without a doubt that the Andersen Ultimate fifth wheel hitch works! I have backed up and jack knifed between 70 and 75 degree angle and had about a foot and a half clearance from my truck cab and fifth wheel. Super easy to install, I did the work myself, the key is to purchase a torque wrench with correct socket and hex key socket. What I believe help make this hitch a success is the offset from hitchball on the Andersen unit (3") and the offset from the gooseneck adapter I believe it is also (3"). Additionally my fifth wheel has a sculpted nose, all of the negative reviews that some say about the Andersen fifth wheel hitch, they fail to mention that they are using an older fifth wheel model that has a flat nose. You may run into issue if you have and older model fifth wheel and a shorter bed than 6.5. Bottom line I have been extremely pleased with my purchase of the Andersen Ultimate fifth wheel hitch and would recommend this product to anyone that wants the easy set up and connection.
We've traveled cross country, twice, and over 10,000 miles towing and this has been the best hitch we've had yet. The roads aren't smooth and the 16,000 lb of our fifth wheel has ridden smooth and without chucking/bumping. We have the steel version and very glad we decided to purchase this hitch instead of the typical saddle type 5th wheel hitch we've used before. Had a more costly blue ox and don’t like. To heavy and you must line up pin perfectly. Anderson just get close. It is a great hitch maybe the nest
