What Do I Need to Install the Andersen 3200 in a 2022 GMC Sierra 3500?

Question:

I recently purchased a used 5th wheel camper trailer and it came with the Andersen 3220 hitch system. My truck, does not have the OEM puck system in it and I’m wondering what the best solution is to get a hitch system for it. I’m going to be pulling a 43’ fifth wheel camper. Weight is around 15k lbs. Truck is a 2022 GMC Sierra 3500 duels. No factory puck system.

Hi Matt,

The Andersen 3220 part # AM3200 is designed to work with Industry Standard Rails (ISR) and won't require a puck system for installation. For your 2022 GMC 3500, you can use the Curt Universal Industry Standard Rails part # C16204 and the Curt Custom 5th Wheel Bracket part # C16429 to add rails to your truck bed that the Andersen will connect to. I've linked installation instructions for the Andersen 3200 for you as well, they explain how the hitch needs to be set up for clearance based on your truck bed length and what pin box you have.

The AM3200 is rated for 20K towing, since your 5th wheel weighs 15K, this hitch will easily be able to handle its weight.
