Question:
Both of these extensions will fit my intended application 2.5inch to 2. However, I need the exact length to be somewhere between the 24 and 34inch that #c45048 provides. So, 1. Can I drill new pin holes between those existing ones? If so, will it reduce the integrity of the extension? 2. Could I also go with #c49360 and drill the pin holes once I determine my exact distance, then cut off the unneeded length? Thanks in advance for your help!

I reached out to my contact at Curt and they can't give you a rating for a custom application like you are referring to because they can't test it and don't know what tools you are using to drill your pin holes, etc. Drilling holes will reduce the integrity of the Curt Hitch Extension and Reducer for 2-1/2" Trailer Hitches - 24" to 34" Long, # C45048, we just can't tell by how much. In theory it will work without any issue if you are using the correct tools. The Curt Combo Bar with 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver - 36" Long - Unpainted # C49360 is not rated because applications will vary. Again, in theory you can use this without issue, but it isn't rated as an extention.
It is recommended to use the Curt stabilizer strap # 18050 with a hitch adapter like this.
