Electric Winches for Confident, Controlled Pulls

Pick the setup that matches how you pull. For pop-up campers, use a power-in and power-out winch to raise and lower smoothly, and remember a rolling vehicle often needs less line pull than its weight. When wiring to the rear or a trailer, up to 4K uses 6 gauge while higher than 4K needs heavier cable, and some high-capacity setups call for 2 gauge. Mount to a strong, backed surface, keep the pull in line, and choose cable for pulleys or a strap when you don't need one.
Choose based on how you'll pull. Cable can run through a pulley for lifting leverage but can stack and rub if it spools without guidance. A strap can reduce abrasion on the drum but won't work with some pulley setups. Keep pulls straight and use fairleads or guides to help the line spool evenly.
