Will The etrailer E Track Wheel Tie Down Straps part # e64PR Secure My ATV To My Trailer?

Updated 04/30/2026 | Published 04/23/2026

Question:

I have a small tilt trailer that I use to haul my ATV around. We took it to Colorado behind Fifth Wheel. The ATV bounced off the trailer and was on top of front rail. Broke 6-straps plus winch line. Would 8 e-trac 2 work? Wood floor trailer.

Hi Rick,

I'm so sorry that happened with your ATV, it sounds really scary!

To secure it to your tilt trailer and keep that from happening again, the etrailer E Track Wheel Tie Down Straps w/Roller Idlers part # e64PR you were looking at will do the job. Each strap in the e64PR is 2"x12' and is rated for 1,100lbs, with a break strength of 3,300lbs when used with floor-mounted E-track which should be more than enough for your ATV. It also has rubber blocks to keep the straps from sliding off your tires and keep them in place once tightened. Since you're train towing, I would recommend having a strap on each wheel of the ATV to help reduce the road shock and keep it from moving. The e64PR has two straps included in it so you'd need to purchase two of the kit to get enough for all four wheels.

Where in Colorado do you like to go ATVing?

I’m happy with mine. Also wood floors. I used another piece of e-track underneath floor and sandwiched the wood floor between them. This gives the bolts something to hold onto except wood. Worked really good.

@CalvinW That's really interesting that you used another E-track as a backing plate! What led you to that decision versus using an E-track backing plate # e66RR?

Hey Rick, they work fantastic! Just use long self tapping screws to secure the track to the floor about every 5 holes. The rubber blocks on the straps won’t allow them to slip off! I use them to haul proto type style race cars and have never had an issue. We travel the entire country so lots and lots of miles towed for me!

I am in the auto wholesale business and I use a 16 foot race car trailer to haul mid size SUVs. Been using the e track for about a year now several times a week and am very impressed with it. I had problems with my old straps getting loose and needed to stop a few times just to check everything and with the e track they don’t move at all. I anchored my rails with pop rivets and I actually have two rails side by side to accommodate different width vehicles.
